So I was finishing up a photomanipulation project where I did a real life looking version of my Eclipse character, Rookery DeCarabas. I was going through my bank of armaments to see what sorts of SW guns might look good in her hands. Now of course the one in her left is the good ol broomhandled DL. But for the left arm, which was perspective outstretched to the viewer, I was stuck for finding a pic of a SW pistol in that perspective. Til all of the sudden, there it was.

The Bryar Pistol. JUST in the angle I needed it in too. Some canny prop person had made himself one based on screenshots from the Jedi Knight FMV's and uploaded a pic of it.

For those of you wondering, The Bryar Pistol was the basic pistol you got in the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games featuring Kyle Kataarn. The little guy wasn't too much of a hard hitter, but was accurate as anything. It charged itself. And if you built up a charge before letting a shot fly with the secondary attack, you were really able to hit with a single hard but steady shot. Even after getting much better weapons in those FPS games, I still used my Bryar. And held a special place in my holsters for it.

It occurred to me to wonder. Was this a favorite among the game players here as well? Did some of you expect to see this pistol at Rollout? When the devs let fly with the pistols we're supposed to get later, do you think this may be one of em? Do you think it OUGHT to be one of em? What ought to distinguish it from the others if we do?

And by the way, the manipulation came out GREAT! When I post it somewhere, I'll put the link here for you folks to see. The bryar in her hand? Yes yes and YES it looks good on her. ^_^

I totally agree that the Bryar pistol should be in the game and given that it was the venerable Kyle Katarn's weapon of choice, it should be a very high end pistol!

It's attribute as you touched on should be somewhere in the lines of great mods at all distances because that mother was super accurate and steady! Oh yeah, it should have an AR1...

If they only added one new pistol I would hope that's the one

Yeah. There are a lot of weapons already in the Star Wars material. Particular heavy weapons. I'm not really sure where these acid beam cannons, flame throwers, and lightning cannons the commandos are supposed to use came from. I'd much rather use theconcussion rifle or the flechette rifle from Jedi Knight II if I were a commando ... but that's just me.
