Thread: Current Status of Disarm

From all the talk about what's up on the test server and fixes that may or may not have been done to this special, I don't know whats what. Has Disarm been adjusted and does it hit weapons now. Does this have any effect on PvE as well. Thanks!

We've been told that it's been nerfed (no longer a ranged AE KD).

It's supposedly on test right now.

There are no master Pistoleers on test though, so we don't know what it does now that it is different, and it will apparently go live without being tested.

I would think that it now has the same effect as DS1 only more pronounced. So we just need a TC pistoleer to report what DS1 does now. Specifically, does it actually damage the targets weapon?

I asked Jarery (on test) to give us an update about this skill (disarm shot 1). Hopefully he replies to his own thread and notices my question. (:

what exactly do you guys hope to accomplish by getting info on disarm1? I mean what if disarm1 is a damage to the weapon shot. and disarm 2 is that + something else like a stun or posture change? Or what if they just take away the ranged knockdown from disarm2 and leave things as is after that?

Since it is a special that we have (typically the first you get after novice pistoleer and the one at master) it would just be nice to know what it actually does.

Yes but they will make it do something other than a random HAM shot that does double damage to lairs. I mean eventually. Not necessarily in the next big update, but they know and we know that that is not the intended effect.

I'm not saying it will be useful, but I would keep an eye on it on test, because one day it will do something different than it does now on live. I guarantee it.

I havnt tested disarm 1 yet, still grinding to get master. Should have it by tomorrow night. But i wouldnt have any hopes up of them removing the knockdown and adding something usefull, doesnt seem their style.

Disarm shot should unequip the players weapon, or maybe have a system message show up telling the player his weapon has been damaged or something, so he doesn't use his most powerful gun. IMO

i think disarming shot should be able to destroy weapons.. screw griefing.. there are so many other ways to grief in this game its not even funny.. it just goes towards risk and reward.. you wanted to fight the pistoleer.. he wanted to fight you.. your gun is now destroyed.. he pistol whips you in the teeth you fall down he blasts you to oblivion..

lets all be care bears.. i dont wanna grief.. i mean were playing a war game pretty much but someone just paid 25k for a new carbine gun so i dont wanna make him mad wahhhh


god it amazes me how many pistoleers i see that have a problem with this... you ask a BH if they would like a skill like this or for that matter a tka and you will get the proverbial hellz yah


forget a 30 second timer and a 5 second down time that wouldnt solve anything but make the move more useless than it already is..


example: you do a disarmshot2.. item is forced into the backpack for five seconds allowing you to get off basicly 2 to 3 shots but since weapons can be hot keyed from the toolbar he has his weapon oops underhand shot! oops eye shot!.. oops you died because you didnt want to grief anyone

I like you a lot. Mostly because out of all these carebears you aren't one.



what next? do we cry for the people wearing armor because everytime we shoot them their armor gets worse?



Oh no! We're all griefers. Everytime we shoot at someone in armor we're destroying it. We should change all our shots so it doesn't damage armor! Waaah!



We're here to break weapons. Pick a fight with a pistoleer, be ready to get a new gun.

No time for love, I am not a carebear. I just think that destroying weapons is pointless unless it really destroys weapons, which we all know SOE won't allow. If it destroys it outright fine, but if it is this BS of knocking a weapon down 100 points at a time then forget it, it isn't worth it. The ONLY use for this is PVP anyway. In PVP if they have a new gun it's going to take AT LEAST 2-3 shots to destroy it, at which point you will have lost the match anyway. And I am sure that it won't do "much" damage to weapons. SOE will allow us 100 points a shot at best IF we have a totally maxxed out weapon ourselves with a full slice and powerup.


So I am all for it, F' em if it completely ruins brand new weapons in one shot, otherwise it is totally worthless.
