Well, I've found out that I'm not ready for Krayts and Gorax. So, I thought that perhaps I should practice on lower level mobs, thinking that if I can practice my combos and control so that I don't get hit even once by the lower mobs, I can adapt those techniques to the high end ones. Because right now, I'm getting crunched. So, what critters would you recommend to "tune up" for the big boys? And is this strategy even applicable?

You already have stopping and slowingabilities so why not use CM for healing (seeing as the higher lvl heals actually make a difference now) or DOTs? Hard to land if not master CM though another reason to go for the healing.

I understand the theory, I just need to work out the timing/sequence etc. Any suggestions on those? or where to practice that would give good tactical practice where I should win easily, but can still practice the theories well? I mean, obviously i can't practice this on rills and gnorts. But also, i can't practice on krayts or super battle droids.

As soon as I finished my template (MCM/MP 0111 BH) I went to Dath and soloed various Nightsisters. After that, I found the mutant trophy dropping creatures (Bane Back Spider, Mutant Acklay, Scorpion Kliknik) and solo'ed them. They were Lvl 80, so pretty simple. There is a guide with WP's in the Quests forum.
The technique is pretty simple, Stopping shot, E-drain, kite, rinse/repeat. I soloed an Ancient Krayt last night, and after a few failed attempts, I got him. He only hit me a few times when I messed up on re applying the E-drain. Just sneak to 10m and apply it. The trick I found getting that first Root/E-drain. What I did was pull him out by getting to within 30m or so. Once the ? apeared above his hea, I ran away. He chased and I rooted him as soon as he got within range of my ALR. Then I applied E-drain (and shock so Intimidate and Blind would stick better) and kited like hell.

do you think the following would help?
right now i have one toolbar that i use. it has my specials and hot keys to my weapons. would it be better if i set up another toolbar with something like the following?
F1. stopping shot
F2. e-drain (did i read correctly. the range on e-drain is 10m?)
F3. oh, what's the special that allows states to affect better?
F4. adv quickdraw
F5. body shot
i'd probably also put my healing buttons on there somewhere. and low blow, concussion shot. anything else that i'd NEED? oh, and my food probably.
