Well, yesterday i suddenly heard talk about DE-10's not being Master Pistoleer Certed anymore and thats why they got their lausy convertions.. Yes im a big DE-10 fan and thats why i care, if this is true i have a feeling of being a bit ripped off!
Personly i see the DE-10 as a perfect Master Pistoleer Certed weapon, its "hard" to get the things you need to get one crafted at all. You need the Schematic and Barrel (even have to try and get a Yellow one) and then you need Krayt Tissue to get a decent one!
I have the feeling DE-10's are a bit slower, but i dont mind Minimum and Max Damage means everything for me!
So...
Anyone who can back this statement up? Did they get poorer convertions because they are no longer Master Pistoleer Certed? Or were they simply unlucky?

I think they converted worse because they are no Master level weapon, yes.
Should they be? Definetly! Should there be more weapons for all professions that are as hard to get hands on? Yes! Should only components be loot but a player has to assemble it to get a real beauty? Hell yeah!
Edit: Typos.

All looted schema weapons that were great pre-CU were converted to mid-level certs and low(er) damage. Not just the DE-10. Geo-pistols, Black Sun Executioners, Schythe Blades, etc. I think the devs stated their reasoning was that they wanted these crafted loot items to be usable by everyone, not just certain master professions. So since they aren't master level, they aren't as damaging.

I mourn the uselessness of my amazing pre-cu de-10 and geo pistol whenever I go into my house and see them hanging on the wall.

Its not really about master level certs, its about weaponsmith resources. Laser rifles are easier to make better than T21s, DL44 XTs are easier to make better than DE-10s, etc.

As I recall, the logic behind dropping the DE-10 from Master Pistoleer in terms of req's was because they didn't want to "limit quest content to a specific profession".
On the bright side, judging by a post in the Chimaera trade forums, post-CU DE-10 barrels appears to be dropped in stacks, and the barrels have SAC reductions on 'em.

ALR's are better than T21's and T21's are master certed ALR's are not.
