How effective is a pistoleer MBH against a jedi? Im thinking of MBH, pistoleer, combat medic 4xxx I am told that carbines is best for MBH and PVP but I need advise from experts.

well, in pvp i feel i am a big help. but i know my role as a support person. i am there to help the group by using states and roots, etc. damage wise, i don't do a whole lot when compared to other professions.

as far as hunting jedi, pistoleer is mainly a "Force drainer" template rather than an all out damage one. with the proper use of eye shot, intim, duelist stance, disarming shot, stopping shot and the stun/dizzy shots you will do fairly well. it's all in how well you get to know your profession.

pistoleer/mbh is the most challenging of the mbh professions in my oppinion. it takes a while to really get to know when to use the different shots. oh, and don't be ashamed to pull out the proton carbine every once in a while when you can get a root on and make some distance.

the tricky part of the pistoleer is that you have to stay within the distance of the ls. unless you have a ranged arm.good luck in your decision.

You are draining there force, like the above poster said. You are going to take a lot of armor decay to. I have heard stories of a BH losing 30k condition av on each piece of armor from 1 fight.....

That being said, Damn, it's a cool way to kill somebody

I am MBH/MPistols/MMarks/Medic xx1x. My template has worked very well for me (so far this weekend, I've killed5 225k marks, without a loss). You must run out the jeeedi's force, and to do so, you need good armor and great healing. I macro DS, and oftentimes run a low damage/low SAC macro in the background while fighting, so that regardless of how low my action gets, I can damage the jeeedi quickly and steadily.

I think I am one of the few who is MMarks, but there is a great speed modifier in the MMarks box, which convinced me to take it over more healing. I carry 2 FWG5 Featherweights. One is damage capped with an 87 SAC (I put a damage Pup on it); the other is 885 damage, with a 48 SAC when Pup'ed). I switch as necessary during the fight.

Killing jeeedi with MPistols requires you to be fast thinking in battle, and you must be able to withstand damage. A win or loss could be decided by the proper timings of the correct shots. For example, if a jeeedi hits me with an armor break, I usually disarm them to buy some time while the armor break begins to tick down. Fight smartly, get good equipment, practice alot, and you will be fine.

For me, fighting a jedi within 35m has been more epic and fun than root/snare/kite from 80m hoping you can outlast his force. Of course being in range means its much more dangerous and difficult. Use of states is vital, as well as being aware of timers. Never waste a knockdown opportunity and never let yourself drop duelist stance. Having healing abilities from CM is nice, as is high defense from SL. Fighting jedi as a pistoleer is definitely possible, but harder than it could be, some love some dont.

In general pvp, your role, as mentioned before, is to support the group and make it easier for the damage dealers to do their job. That means taking as many opponents out of combat as you can, whether through stopping shot or disarm, and weakening opponents with warning shot and intimidate. If you dont like the support role, you can dabble in carbineer for leg shot and do some damage.

Thought I would just mention that you don't have to be in range of a jedi when pistoleer, Sabre throw range is 32m.
