Thread: Pistoleer(E NOT I!) after ham rewamp?

I was just reading the concept and development forums about the new ham /special costs changes im a bit confused ive just started on the proffesion to complement my bounty hunter skill going for master pistolier / master bounty hunter . As i said the new ham system got me very confused: as i understood it it makes everyone wait extra time between specials and my thoughts are: Wouldn't it completely screw up our proffesion? Im not master yet but so far it seems to me that pistolier can only keep up with other proffesions in damage spamming specials non stop with krayted damage sliced pistols. Wouldn't the ham rewamp completely destroy the proffesion? If eveyone has to wait a loto f time between specials wouldn't everyone just go for commando for the flamer 12k damage ?
Wouldn't we be completely useless asa class? i mean 1 special in like 6 seconds will allow the creatures as rancor simply regenerate the damage and in pvp allow master swordsmans to catch up with as an whack us?
Please explain to me if i didn't understand something about the new ham system, im posting it here since we are all pistoliers here and the threads in dev forum are too long and confusing for me.

My understanding is the "Specials" Bar will have the same amount removed that you do from the HAM bar now...so if you have amazing secondaries you won't feel it really...Or something like that.

As far as I'm aware, it's currently not possible to buff or heal the "special meter" to prevent someone from using infinite moves. Jedi already have this and in most cases it doesn't really effect a high ranking jedi unless attacked by another jedi who uses /drainforce because their force bar is so huge. This allows us to make the following assumptions since the devs are allegedly in favour in balance.
- The special meter will be big enough to last out most conflicts. This may mean resting between battles for most, which doesn't effect us hugely unless we're running fast janta missions to buy our latest loot-crafted pistols.
- There may be an attack for draining an enemy's "special meter" to prevent them using their specials, hopefully disarmingshot, as that is an effect that not only suits the name, but will give pistoleers a possible advantage.
- Jedi can heal their force bars with /transferforce to heal a friend, or /forcemeditate to access superior regeneration. They cannot heal their own during combat until the smuggler revamp when a new spice is added that increases force. Perhaps similar stimulants will be added for us since we're moving onto the same system.
Those are but a few things we can hope for with the new ham system, we're lucky in the way of having relatively low ham costs compared to other marksmen, hopefully these will carry across to the new system and help us a little, at least until we all start dual wielding and killing ourselves.
