I used to be a Master Pistoleer defense stacker with 125+ to ranged defense, melee defense, and dodge. I also had very high defense acuity thanks to Fencer and TKA. I dropped this template after about a week because no matter who I fought, I would pretty much always get hit despite my defenses and never dodge attacks.
I since switched over to a more offensive template with smuggler and BH and no defense stacking.I am 100% pistols. Now I have 105 dodge, 20-something ranged defense, and 50-something melee defense. I still get hit pretty frequently, but hey, at least I know my defenses are low. What still annoys me is the fact that I stillcan't dodge the broad side of a barn. I can honestly say without exagerationthat I NEVER dodge. I have checked my combat logs for a while now and have not seen a single dodge.
I submitted a ticket with my frustrations last night after PvPing and got a response this morning. From the generic sounding reply, I was told that this was a known problem, they were sorry for the inconvenience and that they planned on fixing this with a future update.Wow, really?I replied back asking for more information as the response was very vague.
Does anyoen else haevthis problem? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here, somethings got to be wrong.

But you are also TKM, which gives good bonuses to your defenses

I think its TKA Defense Acuity that really makes dodge kick in?
Hope so....
I have noticed that I barely dodge unless under fire by 5 or more NPC's

It seems to work alright for me. But then I have the +105 from master pistoleer on top of which I eat some +40 or so dodge food. When I use it in the geo cave (which is where I pve the most lately) I notice myself dodging a fair amount, even with just 1 or 2 things attacking me. Try kneeling and fighting and you'll notice yourself rolling all over, to the point where it gets annoying sometimes actually.

I have +120 dodge right now and I dodge more attacks than I get hit with.
Of course, in the combat window it doesnt show up at "dodge," It shows up as evade. It says I evade an attack. But, thats the dodge doing its thing.

dodge seems to work the most effectively, for me, against Storm Troopers....but then again, we all knew that was going to happen....

I dodge all the time in PvE, but it occurs much more rarely in PvP. It should be noted that your opponents accuracy plays a large part in not only whether you are hit, but subsequently if you dodge that hit. So when your fighting rifleman, BH hybrids, or TKMs, its going to be very difficult to dodge anything with just pistoleer. Also, I think the combat spam says that you "evade" the attack now when you dodge, so that might leave some people confused as to if they are actually dodging or not.

I see you guys seem to dodge well in PvE, something I rarely do. What about PvP?

I've seen the combat spam say both recently. I'm not really sure why it changes. I have all my dodges colored so I can easily see when it happens. I've been killing a lot of critters lately and I wasn't seeing any blue dodges. I looked harder and it said evades. But, when I fought some NPC's the other day it said dodge. Maybe depending on the weapon they are using? Depending if it's ranged or melee attack? I'm not sure.
