im planning on going master doctor, and master pistoleer, but in the recent days ive been talking to some pistoleer's who say that without dirty fighting pistoleer aint that good.

i can get 4 dirtyfighting and two pistoleer skills at 4, how good would i be compared to a master pistoleer with that combo?

Are the specials really so much better then the ones of the pistoleer? i mean i understand that a range KD is great, but apart from that would it be worth the skill points to get 4 dirty fighting instead of master pistoleer?

Picking up the dirtyfighting line without being master pistoleer is sort of worthless. You won't even be close to the speed cap using last ditch.Im guessing if you did that you would be Master Doc-Pistoleer 0/0/0/2 - Smuggler 0/0/4/0.That template is horriable.

I would advise you either you pick up a different profession rather than pistoleer.Being master doc, HAM costs shouldn't be a problem.Doc really compliments everything.

You could go:

A)Pistoleer
Pros:Low ham cost, nice accuracy, hits speed cap fairly easy with a low speed weapon

Cons:worst DPS,no working armor piercing,no ranged KD,no state effects

B)Carbineer

Pros:AP2 weapons,Ranged KD,ALL state effects, good damage, possiable to hit speed cap with fast weapon

Cons:high ham costs

Comment:high ham costs are nothing with your buffs... and you can heal yourself, this might be your path?

C)TKA

Pros:Can tank, can dish damage, can target all pools, and is getting improved

cons:no range

comment:If you want to go for PVE, this is the way to go.

D)Riflemen

Pros:High damage, can hit speed cap, AP2-3 weapons

cons:2.5x melee damage modifier, and uses mind for specials

comment:Might be the worst choice, since both your profession will be draining the mind, but if your main goal is to be king of pvp, then this is the way to go. Just stay out of melee range/carry muon around.

If the Jesus piece around your neck is bigger than your pistol,it means homicide okie dokie and your god will forgive you. Just show the saints at heaven's gate, you should be on the list. I hear he over looks manslaughter for a tattooed crucifix.

Great info thx, i figured out another combo yesterday =)

Pistoleer, and only 0 0 0 1 to get the melee KD and to be able to stack healthshot 1 and 2

Master doc.

and then Creature handler.

Is pistoleer really that bad? i play with 2 friends and im novice pistoleer 0 0 0 0, they are rifleman, carbineer 0 0 0 0, and i dueled them both one after another and managed to kill them both using healthshots and bodyshots and we didnt use stims? Do they get uber specials later on that a pistoleer doenst get?

Bah ok now i think im gonna go just master doc/master pistoleer. and then get a good non ch pet and buff it.

You can buff pets as a doctor right? Should i use a rock beetle or a gurrek?

Well the whole idea in having a non CH pet is that you are the one that actually does the damage and kills the beast. The pet's main job is to stand there and take it on the chin. So I would recommend a Rock Beetle or Mountain Krevol. The mountain Krevol is just a little tougher, but the Rock Beetle has a ranged attack, which does come in handy from time to time. Since you have 2 spots for pets in your data pad, I would get one of each. They both have light armor, and can take damage for quite some time, even against higher level mobs. I use a rock beetle to kill FS mobs and can usually down the mob before the rock beetle croaks.

Being a Master Doctor, Master Pistoleer is a very good set up, If you combine that with 2 foods (cant remember names) One boosts will power about 500 and the other boosts the mind about 500, and your buffed with good composite plus a shield, it would be extremely difficult taking you down. Chances are pretty good that you would take out your opponent with a spam of stopping shots before he could come close to killing you.

Properly prepared and set up, this is one of the most lethal templates in the game.

As the other poster mentioned, take a hard look at Carbine -- that class's overwhelming problem is that they tend to kill themselves with the high action costs on their specials -- but as a Master Doctor, you will not have that problem. Unlike Pistoleer, Carbine actually has ranged knockdown and state effects, and can be deadly in PvP if you want to go that route.

Remember, a pet nerf is coming, you will only be able to call a CL10 as a non-CH, and Thunderheart said that sub-CL30 pet armor is to be nerfed, and even buffed (yes, you can Doctor buff pets) you will be looking at a 2000-2500 HAM no-armor pet, so having state effects in your combat class will become more important than it is now.

Counterargument -- Bio Engineers will eventually get the ability to experiment CL -- if they can get their Kahmurra to CL10 and retain the 3000HAM which they can already achieve, you could get one of those, buff it and have something pretty decent.

Seriously, though, ask around the Carbine boards.
