Thread: Explain the nerf

Can anyone explain what happened to the FWG5? My weapons seem to be doing just fine.

The nerf has yet to happen. It is currently on Test Center which may or may not go to the live servers. What they did was remove a part to the FWG5. This part will drop max damage by about 30-40 points and speed by about .3-.41 This will also mean no more Krayt FWG5s.

According to some TC posts this may just be a bug. So lets wait and see before jumping to conclusions.

Anyone have an idea of what "good" fwg5 stats will be then?

It **edit**ing figures pistoleer is already one of the weakest **edit**ing classes one can choose to freaking begin with. Then some moron feels the need to bring out the GD nerf bat and makes us even weaker. Hell I might as well be a ranger or a squad leader. They are pretty useless too!

Take Novice Medic and combine it with your Pistoleer. You'll see your deadliness improve about 200%.

It never ceases to amaze me how people go off about TC changes.

I've even seen players flame about how "insert change here" has screwed their character up and they now hate the game and can't earn xp/money/whatever, when the change they are talking about isn't even live. IT'S ON THE TEST CENTER!!!

They just read a bunch of flames made by other players who don't take the time to understand what's really going on. None of this is in refernce to the original poster by the way. I commend Hayden for making an honest post, with an honest question. He's apparently immune to what I refer to as the "pied griper" effect. The "pied griper" is when one player loudly and convincing gripes about something that he completely misunderstands, and all the rats just follow his lead without a clue.

My point?
This is something that's happening on the test center. It may or may not ever make it to the live servers. The purpose of the test center is to TEST changes and ideas before implementing them. It's a valuable developer tool. Sometimes I'm sure developers see something isn't going to work, or is a bad idea once it's on the test server. But by then, the pied gripers are already leading the forum-rats through the streets lamenting about changes that may never happen.

An an approximation to the nerf... I am a master waeponsmith. part time pistoleer. If the nerf happens, my best "base" non krayt fwgs will drop from 63-215 1.7 to 43-175 2.1. This is due to the elimintation of the power handler from the schematic for the Fwg. This would also preclude the usage of Krayt tissue in the pistol at all. While I agree that some of the pistols posted about are way too powerful, I would argue that the problem is with the way Krayt tisue is Implemented in game, and the fact that the tissue can almost double the strength of the weapon, rather than the weapon itself. The Scatter pistol is BY FAR the most powerful pistol in game, given the min damage, the AP 1, acid damage, and the range modifiers. I urge you all to protest this nerf, if that is indeed what it is, and call for other solutions.

wow, nerfing fwg5??, meaning pistoleers doing low damage and firing slower than riflemen?? is this uir idea? yes? congraz, u r know the official winners of the devs i&/%$t awards
