well even without stopping shot i can kill someone without them ever hitting me.
all i do is get a pistol whip and then you can use double tap. if they have no armor 2 double taps and they are incapped. well maybe 3 or 4 since your gun isnt krayt + feeder.

Keep moving, never stand still. Our firing on the run skills are one of our best assets
try to get an /examine in before the fight, check out what buddy is wearing armor wise. this could all change once the fight starts but opening with the right gun can save you a pile of hassle.
get a good hat, protect your brain. It's the weakpoint on everyone but a buffed zab and there is no way to stim it yet.
most of the time bleeds are a waste of time in PvP unless you are planning on running away for a while. The damage you would do in the 2 attacks you waste laying on the bleeds could be the deciding factor, you need to do the damage now, not in 20 seconds. By the second tick the fight should be over.
know your foods/spices and have an idea when they will wear off. Buffing up can "make" you and getting incapped 'cause you wern't paying attention and they ran out can "break" you.

Get Master Pistoleer, then get smuggler and learn the dirty fighting branch only. Now you have low blow so pistol whip is no longer needed cause you can knockdown from a distance. Then use last ditch. when someone isnt wearing armor its usually lowblow, last ditch, there on there way to the cloner. Also panic shot is nice too cause it cause them to not do anything for 10 seconds when hit by it.

I would say : avoid Stopping Shot as long as you can, its HAM cost just doesn't worth it unless you reach 85 speed.
KipUp is just almost as good dmg wise (the difference is lower due to pvp restrictions) and costs way less HAM points.
Also, using Stopping Shot while using composite armor will eat your action pool is something like 6 hits (and those riflemen are still crying, priceless) or you are using a FWG5 but its dmg will be reduced by 4 (pvp) then 2 (AP0 vs AR1) and then 2 (50% resist)...it means divided by 16. Avoid FWG5 or Scout Blaster or DH17 in pvp and prefer DX2 or Tangle or SR Combat, it will be much more efficient despite the raw numbers you'll see in your spam window.
At Master, you can consider Sopping Shot if your gun gets huge dmg and slow HAM cost but really, I don't recommend it.

Have lots of faction, we tend to just hand the stuff out in PvP. Don't get mad when you get killed. For every one of them you drop expect to be dropped a few times yourself. We just need to lower our expectations for now, untill we get some love the "pure" pistoleer is an easy target.
He is lookin for PURE help, so telling him to get dirty fighting isn't helpfull.
