It all depends on the speed of your gun. You don't hit the one second speed cap with StoppingShot, as a Master Pistoleer, unless you have a gun that is under 1.0 speed. Your estimate, that you're hitting with StoppingShot every 1.2 seconds or so, is probably a little bit low. With a 1.4 speed gun, you hit every 1.456 seconds with StoppingShot.
Don't get TOO excited about StoppingShot. If you're firing it every 1.456 seconds you're spitting out more damage than you would be with BodyShot3, but since StoppingShot is random HAM you'll actually take longer to kill anything because only 55% of your shots will hit Health instead of 100% of your shots.
StoppingShot doesn't become better than BodyShot3 at actually killing things until you're able to fire it every 1.1 seconds. You can't fire it that fast as a Master Pistoleer unless you have a gun that is faster than 1.0 speed.
I've been hearing all over about stopping shot takign 2 seconds. I'm a master Pistoleer with no other pistol mods i.e. no bh pistol. and I did a test with some friends. I took my 1.0 speed FWG5 and stopping shot spammed my friend and my other pal timed till incap. It took about 5 seconds for the incap (which was kinda nice) and I shot him 5 times. which I dont see how i could do with a stopping shot that takes 2?? seconds. I was jsut wondering if anyone could clear this up for me.

Thanks for the info.. Either way its not 2 seconds like i have heard that the minimum cap is... I Don't know who pulled that out of their butt.

Right. Last Ditch has a 6.0 modifier instead of a 5.0 damage modifier, so it's a lot more powerful. But of course it's not a Pistoleer special, it's a Smuggler special.
Pretty much all of the good pistol specials are in Bounty Hunter or Smuggler.

Yea, and it is stopping shot 2. It hits all random pools and is still faster than BS3, which focuses on health only. Unless that 1 modifier makes all the difference. Sorry I don't know the combat system as well as some do.

Here's the comparison for you. You're a Master Pistoleer using a 1.0 speed pistol, based on your post.
First of all, you fire StoppingShot and LastDitch every 1.04 seconds with a 1.0 speed pistol -- that is extremely fast, needless to say.
Let's compare StoppingShot (5.0 damage modifier, random HAM) with BodyShot3, which is a 2.5 damage modifier Health-targetted attack. 5.0 / 1.04 seconds = 4.8 damage with StoppingShot. Since it's random HAM only 55% hits health, which means that it's the equivalent of 2.64 targeted. That's slightly better than BodyShot3, and it's because you're using a 1.0 speed pistol (which almost none of us are using) at Master Pistoleer. If your pistol was 1.1 speed instead, you'd be firing every 1.144 seconds and then BodyShot3 would be better (2.4 health versus 2.5 health).
But LastDitch, which is a Smuggler special, is a LOT better than BodyShot3 for you because it has a 6.0 damage modifier. 6.0 / 1.04 seconds= 5.77 damage with LastDitch. That's the equivalent of 3.17 Health Damage. LastDitch is always better than StoppingShot and is better than BodyShot3 even with a slower pistol.
