Thread: One thing that would make a true disarm effect less useful PVE

Let's say, just for grins, that there was a disarm move that actually removed the weapon from the target's hands. Said weapon could then be reequipped after a short time.

Most people round here focus on the PVP. But I think it would be pretty useful PVE. (Course, it wouldn't do anything against creatures.)

But then, I realized one thing that would make it less useful even against npc's: All NPCs to the same amount of damage, no matter what weapon they have equipped.

For instance a Dark Trooper will do around 300 damage a hit every 2 or so seconds, whether he has a rifle, carbine, stun baton, or bare hands. The damage TYPE changes, but the raw damage amount doesn't really change.

So if you were in melee range of an npc and disarmed it, it wouldn't really help you.

Course, pistols being a ranged weapon, it would make kiting the enemy a lot easier.

A disarm move would do what against an unarmed combatant?

Exactly.

So when do we get re-armed?

The problem with disarming 1 weapon is that the combatant will simply switch weapons.

Disarm should just delay a weapon attack for 3-5s with small random HAM damage and Disarm 2 should do the same with more damage.
