true that. dx2 needs a lot. other than AP and accuracy it needs to look a little better. im sorry but shooting my opponent with a hairdrier just doesnt work.
yeah but it was early enough in the game to where no one was really missing out on much since i never saw a pair of VK's till i hit novice tka...
too much time has passed by and another thing they did to ease that transition was up unarmed damage by 20 on the brawler level

Actually there arefour AP pistols, the SR combat pistol andthe Republic Blaster, sadly tho the cert for this gun resides somewhere in SOE dev Limbo. I made a Republic Blaster that had a max damage in the 190's, simply the best stats on any AP pistol that I have made yet, and only slightly behind the fwg5 pistols I can make as of this time which have no AP. That leaves us with 2 energy AP pistols, and 2 acid AP pistols in the game.

3 actually. DX2, Scatter, and SR Combat are all AP1. I think slow AP2 pistols may be a bad idea with the way speed stacks. I can just picture someone dabbling Expert BH/Dirty Fighting/Pistoleer being able to spam Last Ditch with an AP2 pistol at 1.0 cap.

DX2 isn't really a crappy pistol as long as the AP is working properly, I can make some pretty nice ones... I can make a scatter with about 32 more to the max damage though, so it might just be that the resources haven't spawned with decent quality on most servers. Starsider didn't have any dx2-6 at all for along time, I really think it is a resource issue because the last time I made DX2's the stats were similar to the scatter pistols I was making several weeks earlier. I think it's probably the resources that are gimped, not the gun itself in most cases. It can still be a superior pistol for certain situations.
Well... the DX2 has acid damage going for it, even if it sucks. Between my DX2 (acid), FWG5 (heat), and my Scout Blaster (energy), I can almost always pick a pistol that takes advantage of a specific target. The DX2 would be fairly decent IF you were lucky enough to get a good one and IF it the AP1 worked. And if you got it sliced decently. And if the HAM costs weren't so high... Carbiniers and Riflemen can talk all they want about HAM costs, but who cares if you are 1-shotting targets? We have to do long, drawn-out battles. (okay, so I tried Carbines once and couldn't believe the HAM cost even at marksman levels...but you get the idea)
I neeeeds my republic blaster though. I bought one and put it in the bank slot, a silent glimmer of hope that it will one day be usable.
