Thread: Okay I gotta do the pistoleer thing :(
I've been a novice for a long time even though I'm a master rifleman, but now the "Holocron that must be obeyed" has decreed that I must master pistoleer.
So currently I am fighting Mokks with a tank which is good XP but slow. Anyone have any better suggestions?
You've already got a DX2 and an FWG5 which is good, but now get your hands on a good energy damage pistol. Scout Blaster seem to be the weapon of choice, but I've been carrying a DL44 because it has better damage and comperable speed. Either way, get one.
Run missions on Dantooine. You can literally get all the xp you'll need to master Pistoleer, and you'll never need to leave Dantooine unless it's to train. My suggestion is to take Seething Bol Crusher missions. They have decent armor, but they are vulnerable to heat damage, so your FWG5 will tear them up. Lairs usually spawn 7 and you should cap your xp on each one (depending on level, between 3,000 and 5,000 xp), plus the xp you'll get for destroying the lair. So that's anywhere from 24,000 to 40,000 xp per lair. Run about 100 of those missions, and you'll have all the xp you need.

You don't HAVE to do anything. If the holocron told you to delete your characters and uninstall the game, would you? Of course not.
If you originally wanted to be a rifleman, you're happy being a rifleman, then why the hell change? Don't make the sad face about doing it. You're making that decision VOLUNTARILY. Noone's putting a friggin' lightsaber to your head and making you change.
Sure we have a edi or 2 out there nowI think this holocron stuff is the wors idea ever put into the game. I refuse to touch one, because I will not allow the DEVs tell me how to play a game I pay to play.
OK sorry about that but it just erks me.
Errr also: Any suggestions on weapons? I have a DX but I've mostly been using my FW against the mokk scouts because of their vulnerability to it.
Any other pistols I should look at?
Here's a way to get over 3k pistol xp with the normal 10% combat xp.
Rogue Fambaas.
Open up with Suppression Fire, Health Shot I & 2.
Body Shot 2, Body Shot 2.
Keep doing BS2 until it runs up to you.
Put on your armour, clear your attack qeue and use Pistol Melee Defence 1 untill it falls down.
Run away.
Take off your armour and heal.
Repeat from the start.
It wont hurt to throw in Warning Shot and Threaten Shot now and then.
I'm assuming you use armour and clothing macros.
Rogue Fambaas give good xp, and they wont DB you if you mess up or have bad luck.
Normal Fambaas are more dangerous because they will all aggro you.
But Rogue Fambaas give better xp.
About 3.9 k if memory serves correct....
When you've got it down pat, you can take out a Rogue Fambaa in about 10 minutes using this method, providing you dont run into other Reds or completely stuff it up.
Then, just wait for the RF to respawn.
And remember to loot em. Armour segments they carry......sometimes.

Maybe, but it aint real exciting.
Plus, if you've got and Creature Harvesting skill, you get some nice quantity of resource.
And some armour segments now and tehn.
All you get off thugs and other crap is a few creds, some broken garbage and a yawning good time.
I dont consider it a waste of time. I actually enjoy it more than standing in one spot shooting fish in a barrel.
If you want to grind, then grind.
If you want to enjoy your proffession, then play the game.
