Thread: DE-10 versus Geo Blaster: Pistol speed question

So I am master pistoleer master bh and my pistol speed is +129... I was using a mediocre DE-10 in pvp and for hunting jedi. 4.1 speed 185-347 min max dmg. Today however I picked up a sick krayt geo blaster. 1.8 speed 119-324 min max dmg. I feed both guns through a dps caculator that took my speed into account and the geo was by far the better damage dealer.
My question is since I am speed capped on pistols does the speed of the weapon matter anymore? I read a post that seemed to say that speed didn't matter anymore as long as the pistol was 4.1 or lower (maybe 4.1 is the highest speed on a pistol)
What's the story?

Once you get over 100 Pistol Speed - you are capped on any Pistol.... be it a 1 second or 10 second speed pistol.
Basically Damage Type and AP of the weapon vs the Resists and AR of what you are hunting will determine which pistol will deal the most DPS

I carry my DE-10 as my regular weapon, but always have my Krayt Geo on the toolbar for a quick switch. The simple fact that most mob's/npc's do not have resists to stun makes that weapon invaluable. I probably use my geo a whole lot more in combat, but I *earned* the DE-10, so I am going to carry it! Damage for damage, I kill faster with my Geo... but my DE-10 just looks cool.
