the smugglers are going AWOL on their boards about how they will only be crowd control and what not, i personally dont really care, i mean we arnet the highest damaging profession by a long shot, so what do you guys think about being "crowd control" now? besides i thik it will encourage more grouping because we cant dish out thousands of points of damage, and i kinda like grouping, so any thoughts?

Yes,

People are forgetting that we can combine different professions so that we can get the template we like- personally I will be staying BH Pistoleer and will be loving it

After the CU, I will be a triple master, with marksman, pistoleer and smuggler. I was think about adding novice carbineer and the first three boxes of Carbine Abilities for the AoE attacks.

yea, people are really going nuts about this, but like you said we can combine profs to be much better, personaly, i will still be a master pistoleer and a master smuggler and go from there

/agree

People are ripping each other to shreds on other forums. The info is incomplete, and has a disclaimer saying that facts can change at any given time. Folks just need to settle down...wait till you can actually play, and see how it works. Then go off on what you do and don't like.

I also agree. While at first glance I don't like the "crowd control" description for CU pistoleers, because I am a mostly-solo PvE player and don't see any use for a crowd control profession for my playing style, I also know that I can do one of two things to adjust: (1) pick up a second elite profession that will supplement the areas where pistoleer is lacking (it seems to me that either Pistoleer/Commando or Pistoleer/Bounty Hunter could become mighty powerful templates, among others), or (2) respec my pistol skills into a new profession. I love being a pistoleer and have spent a ton of credits building an inventory of good pistols, so I would not be too enthusiastic about option #2, but I am not opposed to the idea of trying out other professions if I am disappointed with Pistoleer post-CU. It certainly wouldn't be enough to make me want toleave the game, and could in fact make the game seem a lot fresher and novel to me.

Some of us can't pick up a second elite profession to round out our pistol skills. I'm a master ranger/master pistolier, and I think I'm gonna be gimped pretty bad. Hard to hunt without effective combat skills.

hey dudes, from what Ive seen of the skills listend in the pistoleer trees in the Test center, Crowd Control is not bad.

You get shots that stop movement! stopping shot actually stops someone from approaching you.

Disarm makes the opponent fumble.

so if you like soloing the game and are worried about this:

/target krayt

/stopping shot from 35m
/stopping shot from 35m
/stopping shot from 35m
/stopping shot from 35m
/stopping shot from 35m

until he dies... yeah, it supposedly deals little dmg but then again it keeps the krayt away from you!!!! since krayts dont have ranged attack.... Crowd control rules!!!one!!!!

plus BH has really nice looking specials to compliment pistoleers and also the Duel Stance to protect you.

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: this glass is half full. And then there are those who say: this glass is half empty. The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Heh. You can fix that, Al. Change to a rifleman or something and distribute your pistol goodies to your guildies.

Okay, okay. Just kidding.
