Thread: Defense against stopping shot

Armor, knockdowns, warcry, panicshot, the LLC, The flamethrower, Buffs, intimidate.
Im sure theres a few more but this should give you the idea that anything that either stops damage slows damage, absorbs damage or does more damage will help you survive Stopping shot.
Dying with dignity, and then congratulating the winner. Maybe next time he will let you live.

Low Blow, Last Ditch (x2), Panic Shot, Low Blow, Low Blow. That's how I defend against it! 
StoppingShot isn't that great of an attack. It's random HAM, so only 55% of the attacks go into Health. And as we know, Health is generally the longest bar and the easiest to heal.
If someone is firing StoppingShot very fast at you, they almost certainly have BH Pistol along with Pistoleer. But even then, the other guy is generally making a mistake by using StoppingShot instead of TorsoShot or EyeShot.
Your best bet is to wear armor and have a strong attack of your own. Obviously if the other guy has lots of skills and you don't have many, it's going to be hard to win, because even with armor you need to damage him or else you're going to lose.
Stopping shot, yes it is powerful attack. Is it effective? No.
It'll hit from around 100dmg to 1000dmg but being random HAM it can take 8 shots to incap a target. Sometimes ive been hitting for 500dmg at a steady pace against a target and not incap the target simply because he was armour and i had no luck and hit each HAM bar equally.
We really need a decently strong attack that targets HAM. At the moment body shot 3, at master level, doesnt do this. Hitting at the most for 300 in pvp and eating HAM like a dewback. Generally you'll hit for 80dmg in pvp to 100dmg in pvp. Torso shot IS more powerful then this and burning the target, even if you can heal it it'll still incap before you can even type /heal.
At master pistoleer with a decent speed on your pistol you will be maxed at speed anyway. Bh would be pointless for speed mods. Stopping shot is a good shot but by no means godly.

As a Master Pistoleer you won't hit the speed cap with StoppingShot unless you have a pistol with less than 1.0 speed or have BH Pistol skills.
