Thread: Shooting ranges...
(Something I posted in SWG Discussion. Thought you people might take an interest.)
I just think it would be cool to have some shooting ranges in this game. Like they have in some combat games. Each player get to go to their own little area, like in a real shooting range. You can choose to either shoot at still or moving targets. Creatures or npc's. The higher level you are in your combat class, the more variety of mobs you get to pick from. They move towards you quickly though, so you have to hope you don't miss before they get too close and disappear, because of course you're only getting exp if you kill the mob.
This would be a good place to go to if you need just a couple more points of exp to finish that box off before you log off, because running out to missions for a few meesly points can be a pain (and we know the dev's are concerned about this because they're SO against corpse runs), and this would keep people from completing other players' missions for the exp.
There would have to be a fee (maybe large)that would be determined by how high you are in your combat class and the amount of time you spend in the shooting range, or perhaps a percentage of your cash,to keep people from getting all of their exp from this. If your cash runs out while you're in, you get booted out. Maybe even having to buy the mobs that you're killing. The higher thelevel of exp the mob is giving you the more you have to pay for it.
For close-range combatants they could do a dojo type thing.
Hmm. Maybe if the mob kills you you'll have to wait a certain amount of time before you can go back in.
I'm just throwing ideas out. Please reply with your own thoughts...
If you could get any amount of xp from it, it would be exploited like crazy.
However, a non-xp granting shooting range would be sorta cool. Just to test things out without a threat of death.
