Thread: Thinking of going pistoleer to complement tka...
Been thinking of pistoleer, seems like you are a nice bunch ![]()
Also thinking of dabbling in the smuggler tree... Is it good or stupid? Is it fun being a pistoleer? How do you fare in pvp?
i recently started climbing the pistoleer ladder, at novice you get this nice little special attack called health shot 2. i used it tonight for the first time , health shot 1 had discouraged me from tryign it out but i was curious and bored. low and behold, i used it , and there was a change to the poor huurtons status, upon examination i saw it was...BLEEDING! yay! bleed you evil dogs! woohoo!
asid from that , im very curious about doubletap, and id really like to use body shot 3, body shot 2 is great but, if i can get a better one why not ![]()
Stacking Health Shot 1& 2 would probably be good for a TKA to use against NPCs. If you're going for PvP, the bleeding shots don't do enough damage to be useful inthe short time span of your average PvP encounter.
Doubletap is not good- random HAM damage, but not a whole lot of it. Disarmingshot1 is also not good for the same reason. Kip up shot from the marksman skill tree is better (also random HAM damage though).
If you're not going to master Pistoleer (large pistol speed bonus there), don't bother with Bodyshot3. Bodyshot2 from the marksman skill tree (see a trend here?) does more damage per second.
Stopping Shot will be slow for you unless you master Pistoleer. Fan Shot is the best thing in the whole skill tree (that's not really saying alot though). It does a little less damage than Stopping Shot but is much faster. You just have to be careful you only hit what you're aiming for because its an area of effect attack. It will hit anything that's attackable in a 30 degree or so area, including NPCs/creatures you might not mean to attack.
Pistolmeleedefense1 is okay... nothing more. Used to be awesome in PvE before they nerfed it. In PvP, I wouldn't go out of my way to use it, but I might give it a try if I happened to be right next to an opponent.
Kielker gave you some great advice. He's right on target.
I think that the Smuggler specials are very helpful for a TKA because they can delay your enemy long enough so you can get into melee range and kick their butt. Pistoleer, on its own, isn't so great but its speed and accuracy bonuses will make the Smuggler specials better.
I used to say "My kingdom for a ranged knockdown" - turned out it only cost my babies.

yah i reccomend getting to atleast lowblow before gettingany thing further up in pistoleer,
except for the Stances(speed) which takes Combat exp, then level marksa nd tech together workgin for me
disarm is good on lairs only, and double tap is ok, lowblow+panic is great along wth 2 bleeds adn intimidate, very complimentary to TKA, feigndeath is a great skill for almost everything, i use it when i fail a tame, hehe or solo bleeding a rancor getting an unarmed hit in and feign after bleed gets full unarmed
im going to get nov tka and try it out
