I just dropped all of my Brawler skills and decided to pick up some Pistol skills. Can you guys tell me what is the best Pistol I can get and what specs I can expect to see, and the price from a Master Weaponsmith so I don't get screwed.

Thanks

wow, 24 views and no reply.

Can any of you pistoleers help me out? I don't need exact quotes, just give me an idea of what to look for.

I'm not a pistoleer, but i have pistols IV and qualify for novice pistoleer.

I suggest an fwg5. Some people are talking about a nerf, i dont know excactly what that is, but someone else can tell you.

I bought my pretty crappy fwg5 (60ish-260ish) for 6k with 1.4 speed. As a pistoleer, i'm guessing you want a good speed on you pistol so you can make a quick, clean kill.

btw, the good fwg5's (around 100-400) are usually on galaxie forum bida and can go up to 100's of thousands. Hope this helped a little bit

For pistoleer our 2 best guns are the FWG5 probably the most popular now. And the DX2. I usually use them on different occasions. I'll use the FWG5 when a creature is vulnerable to heat since thats what a FWG5 is.. a heat gun. And i'd use the DX2 on acid vulnerable creatures. So i would say get both if u can.

As far as a weaponsmith and pricing... i dont know what weaponsmiths are the best on my server so i just try to ask people and look myself and see what i can find. Right now if your buying a "special gun" as i like to call it... made with kryat tissue, u can expect to pay alot. Otherwise about 15k or lower should get u a decent pistol with decent stats.

Hope that helped a little.

Thx, I'm just lookin for any info i can get. I never used a pistol before, in beta i used my laser carbine, but that's because there were no certs for weapons. And when the game went live i chose brawler, so pistol is brand new to me.

Use a scout until you get the cert for the FWG5. When you finally get that cert, hang onto your scout and use one or the other depending on the MoB's resists. Once you get novice pistoleer (if you're going to do that) then pick up a DX2...but be forewarned...they are pretty bad.

Stack bleeds (/healthshot1 and /healthshot2) and always keep on the move as your accuracy while moving with a pistol is better than standing still.

Thanks for the info everyone, that is exactly what I was looking for. I'll try to find a master and get a couple pistols made.

I suggest getting Novice Brawler back. It's real handy

Definitely get an FWG5 when you are certified for it. You can get a nice mid-range pistol (200 MaxDmg) for under 10k on Radiant. That's all I've ever really used, and it works nicely. Eventually your pistol will wear out, and I've never had luck repairing one, so I have yet to drop tons of credits on a single gun.

Until you get cert for the FWG5, DL44s work pretty well.

Once you get Pistoleer and cert for DX2, pick one of those up too. I like to use my DX2 for close-range work since it has a point-blank bonus over my FWG5.

The best thing you can do is stack your bleeds. If you have warning shot you can kill some pretty huge mobs. Place the bleeds, run around avoiding the target and warning shot if they get too close. Oh and having feign death helps Make it bleed, then play dead and watch it die.. Boring? Yes. Worth it? Most of the time.

I can't hit the broad side of a barn using the DX2 while moving. Suppression fire, stopping shot, and either bleed almost always fails. I get a much better chance of hitting with special attacks with the FWG5, so use that to use special attacks if you're zig zagging. If you're stationary or stop to fire, the DX2 is armor piercing and acid which is a nice combo against many different mobs.

I'm going to be asking advice soon on what the heck pistol to use at all that would hang with the scatter pistol. with fwg5 nerfs upcoming, and the inaccuracy of the dx2, I might as well be throwing rocks.

Not to worry. We still have half a ship.
