There has been a lot of talk on these boards about dabbling and things being broken and being nerfed. That profession so and so gets <blank> and they get <blank>.

This my friends, is called balance.

The problem with this forum, and with many other profession forums is that they have become massive territorial pissing contests. We "PURE" Pistoleers only see what we want to see while the "PURE" Bountyhunters see what they want to see and the "PURE" Riflemen see it a third way and every other class sees something different. Who's right?

None of us.

Bear with me. In all the talk and obsession with protecting our own little piece of the pie, we've failed to take a look at the bigger issue and thats the entire game balance.

Riflemen should be able to do serious damage at a far range, but be useless in close quarters

Carbineers should be solid at a distance and close, but it should take a ton of action points to gain that benefit.

Pistoleers should be nimble and fast, but shouldn't be killing people at far range effectively.

Bounty Hunters should be proficient in EVERY weapon but masters of NONE, meaning they can effectively use all weapons and counteract their weakness of not being a master by exposing everybody else's weakness.

Commandos Should be ultra destructive against slower targets yets inaccurate against fast ones

Melee Fighters should be deadly up close but dead meat if you get distance on them.

Smugglers should be using every dirty trick in the book to best their opponents but get them in a fair fight and they should be ex smugglers.

Creature Handlers have strong creatures to do their bidding, but may end up at the short end of the stick if a cunning opponent manages to take advantage of their pets limited intellecutal capacity.

Think of the game as one big complicated game of Rock/Paper/Scissors where you may be solid against some but weak against others.

Can we at least try to think about that the next time we go on a tangent, or look at other professions as a basis for their nerfing or our advancement.

It should be about balance...for the good of the game.

Just my thoughts.
