AFAIK, it gives you a +40 defense modifier for 3-5 seconds aswell. Not that much, but it's definitely something worth considering when switching postures for the aforementioned bit of healing Badger mentioned.

Supposedly being prone improves your ranged defence, the use I found for it is when tanking ranged mobs.

You can /diveShot to prone and blast away, then if you need a heal, which you can't do when prone, /rollShot /bactaShot /diveShot and you are back to tanking.

Kip up can be used to jump up if the target moves.

Really it isn't much more than an aesthetic thing, Pistoleers look quite cool when they do this.

Does it bring you out of the Knockdown state? Or do you have to use Knockdown Recovery for that. Would be a sweet little bit of lovin' if it did.

May the Force be with you.

What does Kip Up shot actually do? Can anyone who uses it tell me? I've not seen any enemyNPCsuse kneel or prone postures since the CU and wondering why we even have a posture Up status shot.

It used to be hawt to do this before the CU...

I seriously cannot tell if I am taking less damage when I go prone. It seems like it, but then damage gets WORSE and I'm like W T F?!

And no, it does not get you out of the Knockdown state. "You cannot kip up shot while knocked down." Tried it first thing after the CU hit.
