Thread: Pistols not meeting their role?
1) We can't shoot very far! We can shoot up to 35 meters away. I can shoot farther than that accuractely in real life. (1000 feet with a shot gun accuractely etc). But this is a game. Balance it more so that for up to 35m we have eprfect accuracy ad every m after that up to 55 M we have - accuracy or something. Currently we cannot engage in combat with many rifleman because they can kite a ranged
2) Damage! If i am stuck burst running to keep up with a ranged I should atleast be able to hit hard up close or something. The highest damage pistol I have seen damage pupped is 1100, sac 84, speed 2.5ish. All rifles are better than this and I call this a rare pistol. If I do catch up to them I should be able to hurt them, yes? I am not a melee here, I don't want what they have but I want something rifleman don't!
3) Specials gimpy? I only use 2 pistoleer specials, stopping shot (hardly ever sticks) and disarming shot (5 seconds helps, but is it worth it?). MOst specials I use are from BH and other things... kinda lame that im pistoleer just for animations and looks, right?
So your probably thinking... why is this guy so dumb and why is he here whining? Well tbh im just saying what think is wrong and one of these issues needs to be adressed to balance us, weither it be our range, our damage, or the specials we dont use, something needs fixing.
Just my thoughts, and I still love pistoleer.

2) The speed makes up for the damage, often I am the one with the mob hate in a group as I cause the most damage over time.
3) All the specials work, see the Pistoleer guide for more info. The only thing that doesnt work is the stun effect itself. All of them are useful
With a bit of practice, Pistoleers can do things like this.
2)Actually, most rifleman shoot just as fast or faster than me because I have a sac/damage gun.
3) looks like I need to do testing.
I was just looking for another opinion. Its not so bad that I can't PvP on my pistoleer but its still a little unbalanced IMO.

1. not every proffession will do well against all other proffessions, rifleman tend to tear pistoleers up, but a good pistoleer can make really short work of melee. (even jedi if paired right)
2. rifleman can dish out a lot of damage, but for a relitively breif period of time, over about 10 mins, pistoleers dps is significantly more than a riflemans.
3. I use pistoleer for the mods and weapons mostly, I don't have enough pistoleer to have the really nice specials, although once they fix the los buggs on kash, I will drop stopping shot and probably get intim or maybe speed mods.
as for balance reason, I this is my perspective from playing both rifleman and pistoleer exensively, against a lot of melee opponets.
rifleman > pistoleers
pistoleers > melee
melee > rifleman
all this assumes thet the first is in there envioroment, the plains of lok are not the place for anyone to tangle with a rifleman, while the rolling hills of dantooine can present problems to even a pistoleer.
I call thing round robin balancing, and while more difficult than balancing every proffession to every other, I think it is much better gameplay wise.
If you balance every proffession to every other proffession, all you end up with is one proffession, just different animations.
that's just my 2 creds though

kinda. To me tis not worth picking up rifleman for a few specials but alot of rifleman (those that arnt cm) do have our stopping shot or disarming shot...

Anyways I just said what I thought needs help. Not saying carbineer or other don't need mroe help but wanted a larger thread to discuss my thoughts. Im happy with pistoleer as is except that de 10 = red bullets with scatter pistol noise of doom.

Well all weapons need to be relooked at, this weapon progression thing is crazy when weapons that can only be made through looted schematic are less then LVL 54![]()
