I just got Pistoleer for my latest holo.

I read through most of the Pistoleer Faq that is stickied up above.

But what i was wondering with all the changes that have been made to the game lately....What is the best way to approach this professions.

Is Fan shot still the one ability that i want to get first or has that changed?

Also is the Dx2 still worth going for or to have that and an FWG5 if i can get a good one.

any advice would be appreciated.

The techniques line is the line you want to do first. DX2 is nice for the right situation. For example; Tusken Fort, Rancors, etc. You must also have an FWG5 for most other situations. Some would argue that the republic blaster is better but I haven't found that to be the case. Specials are worthless until you get stopping shot and fan shot.

I put this in a thread a while back. It might help you out - I'm now using this technique with a second toon and so far it is working quite well (the only addition I would add is after buffing if you get a really good suit of advanced ubese with 70%+ kinetic resists you can last even longer against most critters).

thanks for the info..

also I use a nice little BE pet... 60% kinetic and ar1. works real well

I'll check out the link thanks.

oh yeah... get stopping shot then get fan shot. Is fan shot an AE attack... hard to tell from the "flavor" discription.

Fan shot is an AE attack. Be careful using it near lairs.

My last profession i had to do was Rifleman... I used that ae attack also... I also use a BE pet. I've gotten used to the insta aggro and figured at way to use the pet and ae to be effective enough to not really get hit at all

Not 100% but 85% of time.

works nicely.
