I have a character and pretty much have my skills planned out. I'm going to have weaponsmith and smuggler, with Dirty Fighting, and also going up as far into the pistoleer proffession as possible. As I calculate, if I don't decide to change my mind, I will have 43 skill point to spend in pistoleer, including novice. What skills would be good to get?

I would recomend the stances line for the pistol speed, the teq line for the various state change defences and the AOE attack, and take your pick from the last 2 lines, marksmanship and grips.

As you won't be going all the way to master Bodyshot3 in grips will be outproformed by BS2. You need master lvl speed mods to cut thru the delay on BS3 to make it worth while. Dodge can be a life saver, but it can also be a detriment as the animation stops you dead in your tracks if you're moving when it "fires".

With smuggler specials being way more usefull than pistoleer specials I would lean towards the marksmanship line in your shoes. Gotta hit it before you can kill it.

It comes down to offence, or defence on the last boxes.

Nov pistol=6 skill points
Stances line= 14 skill points
Teq line= 14 skill points
leaves you with 9 skill points to spend in the other trees. the first 2 boxes of either.

Weaponsmith Needs:

-Artisan 4000 - 29 points

-Master Weaponsmith - 64 points

Smuggler Dirty Fighting Needs;

Marksman 0400 - 29 points

Brawler 4000 - 29 points

Smuggler Novice and DF - 20 points

Pistoleer Needs:

Marksman 0400 (which you already have above)

Master Pistoleer - 63 points

29 + 64 + 29 + 29 + 20 + 63 = 234 points. You should have enough...unless I misunderstood and you are going for Master Smuggler...But if you are just going for DF line, then you should have enough, with 16 points left over (I would suggest putting them in novice scout so you'll be able to make a camp incase you need to get a vehicle or mount out in a hurry in the wilderness )

I would lean to using the last 16 points on Novice medic. Pistol HAM costs start to rack up with the Smuggler and Pistoleer moves.

I guess I didn't mention some things. I'm going to have slicing as well (heck, weaponsmith and slicing, gotta be a good combo :smileywink and also Business Three so I can have a vendor. I also plan on keeping Surveying, although now that I think about it I'll likely give that up at some point.

Weaponsmith Needs:

-Artisan 4000 - 29 points

-Master Weaponsmith - 63 points(It's 63 not 64, isn't it? [6+(14*4)+1=63])

-Business III- 9 points

-Survey IV- 14 points

Smuggler Dirty Fighting Needs;

Marksman 0400 - 29 points

Brawler 4000 - 29 points

Smuggler Novice and DF - 20 points

And Slicing - 14 points

Pistoleer Needs:

Marksman 0400 (which you already have above)

Master Pistoleer - 63 points

29 + 63 + 29 + 29 + 20 + 9 + 14 + 14 = 207

250 - 207 = 43 points to spend.

Survey is a waste, who cares about the range. Write a macro to hop off your bike survey and get back on. In my opinion you can drop all the survey, all you need is novice artisan.

Sure, NOW you mention you have those extra skills

And I was refering to a strategy guide that said the Master Weaponsmith box costs 2 skill points...but that could have been changed, it's not exactly the most up to date guide
