Thread: Something odd with stopping shot
I got used to playing "Spot the Ball" with Krayts shortly after the CU went live, I dont look at what the client tells me, but I can predict where the Krayt is from where it was and where I expect it to be.
It takes a fair few kills to be able to gauge it but once you stop believing what your client is telling you then it gets a bit easier.

I just came back from a Krayt farming session, killed about 5 Ancients solo, most of the time I am running 15m behind their tail as they attempt to close the gap on the position I was in50 seconds ago.
The poor things suffer from worse lag than we do! ![]()

Its all a bit farcical really.
Glad you can manage this, whenever I've been near a Krayt, solo or in a group, it warps all over the place, normally straight on top of me. Although sometimes it can be right on top of me and I can't hit it because it's too far away, or sometimes it will be miles away and I will still be getting hit.
This seems to happen with all of the large MOBS, e.g. Krayts, Fambaas, Tortons, Malklocs, etc. Why the server and client can't just kiss and make up and actually agree on something I'll never know.

Yeah it's wierd. And if you break line of site with your target, it will come straight for you.
I figured this out while hunting gorax on Endor. there is minimal lag there, but they will still chase me in endles circles if I fight them on open ground. As soo as I got behind or tree or into a itch and loose LOS, they stop the circle and come straight for me and put the hurt on.

Krayts tend to "Crazy Ivan" every once in a while as well, but its just a client thing I think, they still keep plodding along in the same ridiculous circle as their health slowly goes down to 0 and every now and then they briefly spin around and then go back to their fate.
The hunt for the Red October is the best movie, and book, ever.
