Thread: pistoleer or BH pistols 4 which is better?

my current squad leader template lets me take either master pistoleer or BH pistols 4(i will have a few more skill points left if i take Bh pistols) which is a better choice?

If you go Master SL, BH 0-0-4-0 you've still got 47 SP to spend on Pistoleer, which if you spend on 4-3-0-4 will give you the following mods:
Dodge +80
Melee Defense +42
Pistol Accuracy +140
Pistol Accuracy While Moving +15
Pistol Accuracy While Standing +15
Pistol Aiming +9
Pistol Speed +109
Ranged Defense +17
Pistol Accuracy +140
Pistol Accuracy While Moving +15
Pistol Accuracy While Standing +15
Pistol Aiming +9
Pistol Speed +109
Ranged Defense +17
However, you will have no ranged damage mitigation.. which is a big thing in combat.
If you go Master SL, Master Pistoleer and Medic 4-3-0-0 you'll have the following mods:
Defense Vs. Blind +40
Defense Vs. Dizzy +40
Defense Vs. Knockdown +50
Defense Vs. Posture Change (Down) +20
Defense Vs. Stun +40
Dodge +105
Defense Vs. Dizzy +40
Defense Vs. Knockdown +50
Defense Vs. Posture Change (Down) +20
Defense Vs. Stun +40
Dodge +105
Melee Defense +47
Pistol Accuracy +95
Pistol Accuracy While Moving +30
Pistol Accuracy While Standing +15
Pistol Aiming +16
Pistol Speed +74
Ranged Defense +13
Pistol Accuracy +95
Pistol Accuracy While Moving +30
Pistol Accuracy While Standing +15
Pistol Aiming +16

With this template you'll have far better defences and obviously the ability to heal yourself, but your offensive capabiltiies will be absolutely aweful unless you have either a good Geo or DE-10, but even then you'll have trouble hitting defence stackers. This template also offers up the chance to swap some medic for Force sensative skills that'll get you extra defence, speed and accuracey, but it'll take you a while...
All in all, both present difficult to use templates in PvP, as to be effective with a pistol at all you really need Master Pistoleer and BH 0-0-4-0. Come the combat revamp, either should be decent enough, but until then, if you're the impatient type,you might want to consider either taking up another combat profession, or making sure that you've always got the best buffs, armour, brandyand steak inside you when you PvP.. but then, everyone should be doing that anyway

Eyeshot is a mind targeted shot
Torso is a health targeted shot
They both do approx. the same DPS, and are the best targeted pool shots a pistoleer can get. (Only bested by Last Ditch and Stopping Shot, which are both random pool)
I'd go BH pistols with a bit of the pistoleer speed... 0003 pistoleer will cap of your speed completely.
