I was toying around with some templates and i noticed that i can get awesome defenses..but im a bit worried about the pistol accuracy. At master Pistoleer you'll get accuracy +95 and speed +74. Will that accuracy hit anything in PvP?
How are the below templates in PvP/PvE? Also, i heard that you only have the mitigation of the weapon you're holding...so hmm..if i hold a pistol i have no active melee mitigation?
I have not included any scout/medic skills but i can afford 1 tree in one profession besides this.
Fencer/MPistoleer/Pikeman

Defense vs Posture Change +90
Defense vs Dizzy +100

Well, Pistoleer in PvP is almost useless... but I think eye shot is the best route(although setting them on fire is fun, the best you can buff a mind pool is under 900 with brandy, compared to 2400+ with buffs on the health pool)

If you want to be viable in PvP, I'd suggest either getting the BH pistols line, or getting master fencer instead of pistoleer, and keep pistoleer only for a defensive purpose (dodge and the state defenses). However, pistoleer by itself isn't worth it for PvP.

no, you will get both kinds of mitigation but mitigations from different professions of the same class don't stack, melee mitigation 1 from fencer + melee mitigation 2 from pikeman = melee mitigation 2 (fencer is caceled out)

If you have ranged and melee mitigation 3, you automatically use melee mitigation 3 when using a melee weapon and ranged mitigation 3 when using a ranged weapon. You don't have mitigation for combat style you do not use at that moment.
In general, pistoleer on it's own isn't really good in PvP. I played a pistoleer/smuggler for a loooong time, and that is a decent combination if you know what you do. Took me time to learn, but then I could defeat all kinds of templates.
Combining Pistoleer with Rifleman is combining Weaponsmith with Rifleman. You will use rifleman or you will cripple yourself. (edit: no pun intended, just picked a random non combat profession
)
Pistoleer is good with either dirty fighting or BH pistol, everything more pistol related makes it only better. I suggest you pick up at least novice medic, too. I don't like tka at all, but using it's defense will help I would assume, as well as meditate is great for every combat guy. Even if only taken up for /forceofwill, that helped me win a lot more fights until I dropped tka.
PvP can be very much about tactics, or it can be about who spams the fastest the most damage. As a pistoleer you have to use tactics, stuff like /lastditch's stun, novice brawler's /intimidate and so on are a big part of successful pvp'ing.

What im trying to do here is to stack some defences, thats why i involve pikeman and/or rifleman.
Rifleman give nice ranged/melee defence and pikeman had some state defences.
(Def vs Dizzy to be more precise - thats the bad guy, knockdowns and posture changes wouldnt be a problem
if you werent dizzy)
Ok it wont work - the accuracy is too low for the pistol.
(its amazing, you get 115 accuracy from the BH pistol tree ALONE! and what?94 for master pistoleer?)
Anyways - If i got Ranged + melee for defences and mitigation, and i primaly use the ranged weapon,
you guys tell me that i will not have any active melee mitigation whilte holding a ranged weapon and vice versa.
That stinks, makes me ponder why i want to get mitigation at all.
Better to just get ranged mitigation and defenses, and stay out of melee range (easier said then done =D )
