We've never had melee damage mitigation. Smugglers have both though.

Not very much...

Pistoleer: 50

Rifleman: 40

If we're supposed to be the close-quarters combat ranged profession, something needs to be done about that.

Unfortunatly it seems like Dev's want people to be a mix of professions rather then making a master profession worth it most of the time. Fortunatly one of the devs posted that ranged weapons were supposed to get some sort of boast eventually do the contiunity...you know I never saw Han or Chewbacca break out a power hammer.

It's not like melee mitigation would help us either, since it only works with melee weapons equiped.

the pistol kd is a melee attack so in a way pistol is both ranged and melee

It's technically a point blank ranged attackthat happens to have amelee-ish animation.. But actually, melee/ranged mitigation are supposed to stack regardless of weapon equipped. They just don't.

yes, it wouldn't make sense for a smuggler to get melee mitigation in their pistol line if it didn't work when you had a pistol equipped.

Hope they fix this soon.
