Get yourself a really nice dh-17 pistol. (at least min 100 max 200) First of all, everyone thinks it is a carbine, second of all it has really low HAM costs. You need to be in a non buffed duel to take advantage of the low HAM cost. Then use melee knockdown until they fall and spam stopping shot. I confess, I use confusionshot, lowblow followed by melee defense to make sure they fall and I also use last ditch instead of confusion shot, but it seems to work well.

Never been in a non-buff duel...

Or PvP, when it really matters.

Just accept that you will get owned

This brings up an interesting point. I am a fan of duels without armor, and I will duel buffed or non buffed, both suit me just fine. However when I duel unbuffed I drink breath of heaven, take synthsteak and use that food that add 1k to your HAM (forget the name) and keep pixie and muon ready. In unbuffed duels I never lose because nobody else does this that I have fought. In fact they either don't use specials, or do a good amount of damage to themselves with their own specials.

But anyway, to my point. I began posting on my galaxy's board about gunfighter duels in the style of the old west gunfighters. Each person must be roughly equal (both buffed or both unbuffed), wear no armor or PSGs, cannot heal themselves and stands ten meters from their opponent, not moving at all during the fight. This is just like when two guys stand in the street and shoot each other down. True gunfighters, no armor, no running around in circles and no stopping to put on a band aid. These rules also have the advantage of preventing the duel going to whoever has the best Geo pistol and can use eyeshot.

I walk around in a gunman's duster and will accept duels from anybody else who is willing to follow those rules, and uses pistols as their only form of damage. I think this adds a little extra to the pistols as a weapon and involves us in our own form of PvP. Has anyone else seen or done anything like this and what were the results?

As a roleplayer, 99% of my duels are unbuffed.

I'man ex-l33t pvp'er, however, I'm used to fighting. This leads me to find the best food setups etc. I'm not revealing my setup =D because I haven't lost a duel unbuffed in months with it. (even to combat medic riflemen)

Some of you might know that the average roleplayer is not a great duelist/pvper, most aren't even double masters. (If they have mastered anything!) This kinda leads to some spite, such as I'm abusing the game mechanics in order to affect roleplay... Apparantly, I shouldn't POSSIBLY be able (in realistic terms) to beat fourarmoredcombatantswho have come to arrest me in character.

Kinda pissing me off, making me sick of roleplay. =P Sorry, ranting...

Why not? If someone like Dash Rendar can take out half of the Imperials attacking echo base with a DL-44, then I wouldn't be surprised if a trained gunfighter could easily take on 4 guys.
