We've all been there... We master the profession, start analysing the different weapons vendors across the server, and come to the conclusion that what you can get off the shelf at wal-mart just ain't gonna cut it for us anymore. So we start digging around, pestering weaponsmiths and begin our quest to hold uberness in our hands.
So what's available?
Well this really depends on your character build, so to simplify things, I'm going to stick to pistoleer cert'ed weapons only. As pistoleers we have a wide variety of damage types we can deal. It's one of our strengths so we should build on that. Focusing on just 1 pistol would be a mistake. So, lets see what we have to work with that's easily obtainable:
Then of course we have our looted schematic weapons:
OK so what can I do to make these better?
Some of these pistols require different components, so they need to be discussed seperately, however one thing that can improve them all is a scope. A scope doesn't add damage but it will increase the accuracy at ideal range. Depending on the scope though, it could also add to the ham cost. So talk with your weaponsmith and let him know what you are looking for - raw accuracy, no additional ham cost, or a balance of low-ham with an accuracy improvement.
A little note about the Krayt tissue counts I list: These are the requirements for 1 pistol only. A pistol listed as needing 5 tisses, really only needs 4, but in order to get the enhanced components to all have the same serial, there needs to be an extra for the schematic. So, you could realistially make 2 identical krayt weapons from a lot of 9 tissues.
The [Featherweight] FWG5
There are 2 routes to take on these because of the changes that have gone into the crafting of this gun. Your first option is to find someone that has a pre-nerf krayt fwg5 and plunk down a couple mill for it. These are getting harder to come by, so the cost is going up on them because they're sorta collectors items by now. On the plus side, they will have a much higher damage than any fwg5 that can be made currently.
Currently you are unable to use krayt tissues in the fwg5. You can however use spider fangs. These are no where near as powerfull as krayt tissues, but will give you an advantage over a stock FWG5 pistol, especially given a decent damage slice. Spider fangs can be looted from the firespider in the Geo Lab.
The [Modified] Republic Blaster
The republic blaster does take krayt tissues (requires only 1), so those are your friend. It also has a fairly low speed, so you can focus on damage all you want, not pay much attention to the speed rating on the tissues and shoot for a damage slice.
The DX2
Pretty well the same as the republic blaster as far as getting a custom one made, although it requires 5 matching krayt tissues. Always work the range mods and damage. Speed is pretty low on this weapon as is, especially with krayt tissues thrown in. A good high damage krayt dx2 can kick butt in pve because of the ap1 acid damage.
The Geonosian Sonic Blaster
Ok this is where things start becoming a little more complicated (and fun). Because of the looted components required to make the Geo pistol and DE-10, you can tailor the gun more to your liking. The geo pistol requires a Geonosian power cube in order to be created. There are 4 different types of cubes: White (does nothing), Red (reduces HAM), Green (increases condition 250-550+), Yellow (increases damage 10-30). Alot of people prefer to use high quality krayt tissues in combination with green cubes, because geo pistols are notorious for their low condition. Some prefer to go the pure damage route though and use yellow cubes in combination with high quality krayt tissues. If you don't have speed tapes or BH pistols, speed may be a limiting factor with this gun. Even with high speed mod tissues, you likely will not cap without some speed assistance. Keep this in mind when you're getting a slice or shopping for attachments/templates. Also, if you play your cards right, you can get more than 5 pistols out of a schematic, especially if you decide not to use krayt tissues on one of the uses. Large runs of tissues and yellow/green cubes are your friend.
The DE-10
Another fun to have made weapon, mostly because you never know what the final product is going to look like till it comes out of the oven. This gun has thus-far our highest potential damage output. This particular schematic is a one-shot deal. Its one time use and barrels only drop 1 at a time. Be sure to go after the barrels with yellow text, as they are equilivent to all other yellow-text'ed loots in that they are superior to the normal drops. The fun part is that you don't know how much better till the weapon's crafted. Also you will need 3 krayt tissues to juice up this bad boy. Again, speed can be a rather large issue with this weapon. Stock speeds with a white barrel put this gun at a horrid 4.3-4.5 seconds. High speed mod tissues and speed slices are the call for this unless you have 93+ pistol speed.
please feel free to add/correct anything here

It's one of our strengths so we should build on that. Focusing on just 1 pistol would be a mistake. So, lets see what we have to work with that's easily obtainable:
- FWG5 - Heat - ap0
- Republic Blaster - Energy - ap1
- DX2 - Acid - ap1
Then of course we have our looted schematic weapons:
- Featherweight FWG5 - Heat - ap0 (dodge +5, pistol accuracy +5)
- This 5 use schematic is the reward you get for completing Jabba's themepark
- Modified Republic Blaster - Energy - ap1 (health bleed - 100)
- 5 use schematic Rebel themepark loot (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
- Geonosian Sonic Blaster - Stun - ap0
- 5 use schematic possible loot from the Mercenary room in the Geonosian Lab and requires looted components
- DE-10 - Energy - ap1
- 1 use schematic Looted from the Death Watch Bunker and requires looted components.

Excellent info. I got a rocking DE10 and Geo, but info needed to make more helps in my quest to create some in the future.

great guide.
One thing I'd like to add, you can also use Gorax bones instead of spider fangs when krayt tissue isn't an option. Gorax bones are generally better than spider fangs.
