Is it just me or do repair kits seldom work? Everytime I try to repair my armor there is a 50% chance of it completely falling apart when I'm using 99% repair kits and the itemis always reduced. What is going on?
For example I used a 99% repair kit on my 80%kenetic comp pants and they completely fell apart when they had 2700 left on them. So far I have lost 2 new chest plates, and2 pairs of comp pants to this.
How do you keep your armor in tip top shape? Is there a certain point that I should repair it? Comp is tool expensive for me to go thru trial and error so I quit repairing my armor all together. Now I just use it till it hits 2200, store it, and then I buy a new set.
Is there a formula to making is last longer?
I also have bad luck when it comes to repairing my pistols. When should I repair guns?
I could really use some help
Thank you

repairing items is all voodoo and hexes. Things I do just because someone told me it worked for them:
Always have perfect mind stats. No wounds, no BF.
Always repair as close as you can to the %50 warning message.
Be in the least laggy area you can. A private house is much better than the Cnet cantina.
You will never get a pefect repair, the best you can hope for is a "minor blemishes" repair. I have lost some armor on the first repair but I also have a chestplate in my house that has a 9 max condition on it it's been repaired so many times. I've lost guns on the first repair, and I have a pre-nerf Krayt FWG thats down to 212 max condition from multiple repairs.
It is rumored that master smiths get a bonus when repairing items from their craft but a well known WS on my server swears its bunk after extensive testing. Who knows.

rather than constantly repairing yer comp, why not grind in ubese? critters deal kinetic dmg exclusively and on my server %74 kinetic ubese isn't uncommon. I have noticed on other servers it can be hard to locate ( took me 4 planets on shadowfire to put together a full set and a spare)but if you know an AS I'm sure you could arrainge for some to be made.
It's cheap enough to throw away when yer done. If it repairs, then woot. If not, then you just pull the replacement piece out of yer pack and get back to it. It's also quite a bit lighter on the ham than comp, not such a big deal if yer buffed but for those who need muon or brandy just to get their hat on it can be a blessing.
Just stay away from NPC's with guns. They will tear giant holes in yer ubese.

I use to use Ubese alot and I think I will go back to it when grinding on dant. I think I'll keep my stun comp armor in my inventory just in case I have a run in with imps.
