Hi all,
I'm going for Master Pistoleer and currently I'm 0120... Not much but...
I'm also Master Scout and going for Squad Leader.
I have a question regarding my starting attack. Whenever I attack something (creature or NPC) I have the following macro setup to attack:
/aim;
/healthShot1;
/healthShot2;
/bodyShot2
After this start, I just finish the target off with normal attack (/attack)...
Sometimes, with some creatures, it gets to line two and the creature is dead. With others it takes ages, especially those that mark red.
Is this a good starting attack? I also notice that when attacking my targets, my hAm (the A part) goes down very fast (when I'm not buffed).
Any tips or comments on this?! I would really appreciate it!

uh, dont just use the standard attack to finish it off. i spam health shot 2 or fan shot until its dead. using the default attack is asking to be killed with any mob with a HAM over 5k

Well, just use HS2 to kill stuff.
The A in HAM is your action poll, getting drained by the special attack costs of your specials and weapon. It'll happen. Buffs will negate your attack costs.

Yeah, that's your action pool being worn down by your specials. Strength Quickness and Focus (secondaries tied to ham costs) can all be buffed to reduce that cost, I read somewhere the effect of having zero costs was not intended in the same way that firing any special with any weapon at 1 second was not intended. The devs applied a exponential formula to both these calculations. Your ham secondaries all cap at 1500 where no special will have have a drain on the attached pool and regeneration will occur at maximum rate.
The combat revamp will see a new combat system in which our specials are fired from a fourth, unattackable pool that cannot be buffed for lower costs, which means a state of zero cost specials will not be possible.

all good tips. Buffs and/or stat migration will take care of yer action problems.
I'd like to take this opportunity to re-post the single most usefull macro I have for grinding pistoleer, I call it SilentCall
/prone;
/pause 1;
/healthshot1;
/healthshot2;
/healthshot2;
/pause X;
/peace;
/stand;
X is the ammount of time it takes you to fire off 3 hs2's rounded down to the nearest whole second. I find 4 is a good place to start. You will need to fine tune this number to allow the MAX of 3 shots. If #4 comes out of the barrel the jig is up and they are all coming.
This macro will put you prone, fire off 3 bleeds as 3 shots is how many you get before the critter notices you from prone, peace you and put you on yer feet.
Say you have a pile of ( insert nasty group aggro critter here) in your sights, but don't want to have to deal with them all at once. pick the closest target and get yerself to 60m away or so. Run SilentCall and as soon as you stand out of it, run back to 75m away from yer target or so.
Nothing will happen for a couple of seconds but as soon as the first bleed ticks the target will go aggro and come after you, but will leave all his buddies behind. Kill it and pick out yer next target.
**********IMPORTANT************
Store yer bike between missions if you plan to use this. The target will often ignore you completely and make a b-line for yer ride. I've lost more mounts this way than I care to count. Just store it and yer golden.

/pistolwhip (or low blow, since I got it)
/last ditch x2 (used to be stopping shot)
/HS2 into infinity, occasinally adding another KD and last ditch into the mix. Occasionally substitute fanshot for hs2

Why Healthshot 1 and 2, rather than just 2? I thought the ability to stack the two bleeds got nerfed, or is that not in yet?
As far as I know, you're correct.... they don't stack.

bleeds recieved a vocal nerfing, followed later by a less vocal un-nerfing. Give it a try.

I know this is a hijack of sorts to continue with this side note, but do all bleeds stack then? Can I drop HS1, HS2, and bleeding shot on the same target and have em all ticking away? Usually I won't do that, but if I'm soloing and unbuffed, i'm usually more concerned about bringing down the targets as fast as I can more than milking all the experience.

They will stack, but Bleeding Shot is a mind bleed ifI am not mistaken.

I am a ...
BH 3040
Pistoleer 4044
Smuggler 0130
Commando 0100
so I usually start with the following if it is against a single target...
intimidate1 (if they are in range)
low blow (KD)
torso (to lay down the firse DOT)
eyeshot (blind)
bleeding shot (mind bleed)
healthshot 2 (health bleed)
once states are applied I keep them intimidated and hammer them with either torso and/or stopping shot or eyeshot if I want to target the mind. I also maintain distance and alternate low blow and suppression 1 to keep them KD'd or kneeling to keep them off of me.
