***AND*** holsters. maybe a faction perk, no?
Specials that actually work. A disarming shot that disarms opponents for a short period of time. Stopping shot that disables thier running ability. Whatever the hell the point of point blank shot is, make it work and tell us what its supposed to do because I dont really think it does anything as of right now. Pistol melee 2 that adds a status effect like dizzy or/and stun. Oh, and the duel wield thing might be a nice addition, but im not even that interested in that if you dont get the other specials working.
Guys, Im new to the profession coming back after a long lay off and forgive me if this has been discussed. The thing that sticks out to me the most is in PvP and PvE the damage is small comapred to most professions wich is maybe how it should be. However if Pistoleers are to be quick nimble fleet footed small damage dealers why not just give us Dual Pistol Wielding at master? Seems to me that would double the damage out put and maybe if they fixed some of the specials the profession would fall right in line.

Well, maybe if the DPS / Speed is fixed this won't be an issue, but currently a player's damage is capped very early in a pistol career. The reason? Unless you have 2-5 million for a gun, you're stuck at barely topping 200-220 damage. Now with damages that low and rifles/melee doing 3-4x the damage with <100k credit weapons, there is a major problem.
Another issue is that the uber pistols available aren’t currently obtainable by pistoleers due to their disadvantage. So now we have riflemen/melee looting them and asking millions of dollars. IIRC there are a few excellent melee/rifles available through quests and other sensible means. Not many pistoleers will ever see a good geo and forget about getting a DE-10. Pistoleers don't last long in GEO or DWB.
back on the topic of GCW related perks...
i think new pistols and holsters are a good start, but they might be too much work for too small of a group. i definitely think the republicblaster should be rebel-only...maybe overt rebel only, even.
maybe some pistol skills would be interesting. first thing that comes to mind is dual wield, but dual wield needs to be open to everyone, since boba and jango dual wielded...
it'd be really cool if some faction perk would let us use specials while riding a mount...i dunno...thats not terribly GCW though.
Within the GCW, Pistoleers are the swashbucklers of ranged combat. Give us pistoleer-specific faction missions (obtained from NPC's) meant to enhance that sensation and draw the neutrals to one side or the other withfaction-specific rewards/perks. Quick hit-and-runs in urban environments where the fighting is tight but there's alsolots of cover; rescue so-and-so from some stronghold where the level of your Dodge skill might determine the outcome; stuff like that. This could also be applied to other profs like smuggler, which might have missions involving slicing certain faction terminals for whatever reason. Just a suggestion. Ultimately, though, it's really difficult to speculate much further since much of what defines a profession is based upon working abilities.
