It depends on your meaning of Power. If they have a bad video card, then the LauncherLagger pistol is more powerful. 
Yes, for some reason BH gives you impressive Skill mods for Pistols. Commando gives you none, but a great Pistol Cert.
It's fun versus power.

Actually, the ultimate pure pistol template right now is master pistols, bh pistol line, smuggler pistol line. With the changes they made to the BH requirements, that template is actually possible. Now, it doesn't leave room for much of anything else save for pistols, but you would be as good as is possible with pistol weapons.

but the only problem with going completely pistoleer is u have no defenses at all, yes u might be able to take out 2-3 people by urself but u will always be the 1st person they target and get dropped 1st because u cause the most dam.......
but to ur Q, i would say bh line because that would cap out ur speed, and give u acc, a much needed thing for those pesky fencers lol, yes the LP cert is nice, and lp with lastditch is awesome, but ur better off with bh, specially getting eyeshot.

well my current template leaves me with exactly 0 SP.

I couldn't be happier. I'm capped on speed with last ditch on a DE-10. Lets just say im never going to change my template. ever.. (well I will after CR 
) It's a shame im not certified for the launcher, but thats the sacrifice I have to make, I need to keep investigation for jedi huntin'.
And also, torso shot from the BH line depends on the power of your pistol.. if I use my most powerful DE-10, the fire ticks for nearly 300 damage. The BH pistol line is priceless.

Hey guys... Just toying around with ideas for a template. In your opinion, which would be better. The pistols line from BH or the ability to use a launcher pistol? I guess it really boils down to fun vs power? Please post your comments, any help would be appreciated.

My template is as follows:
Master Pistoleer
Bounty Hunter Pistols IV
Dirty Fighting IV
Slicing I
Novice Commando
I can use every pistol special and pistol in the game with this template. I can't heal but I can feign death hehe. I wouldn't change my template for anything else. I can take on just about anybody except Jedi players. The miss rate against Jedi is rediculous. According to Star Wars canon if a Jedi tried to use a Lightsabre to deflect a shot from a Stun weapon they would destroy their Lightsabre and be defenseless. Jango Fett, Gallandro, even Han Solo were very dangerous men and all capable of putting a hurt on all but the very most powerful of Jedi. Why Jedi players in SWG run at the first sight of an overt player is beyond me. I've fought Jedi Knights and landed 2 out of 200 shots on them. It's rediculous.
But back to the point, this template rocks against the majority of players in PVP and very effective in PVE.
