Thread: Master Pistoleer what gives??

An arbitrary question, but - Master Pistoleer skill "MultiTargetPistolShot" gives what? Does it literally shoot at multiple targets in a given round? The Prima Official Stratgegy "Cheat" Guide tables list the target affected as "single" not "cone", as would be expected, in such an instance. The table's description for the skill is "wrapper for above".

**edit**??!

Inside the guide table, directly above MTPS's skill is the skill "LowBlow" (which is a knockdown effect skill). However, the "Defender End Posture" for "MultiTargetPistolShot" skill is "no change", contrary to the prior's end posture of "Knockdown". To have no status modifer at all would be pointless because using "Bodyshot3" would be more efficent. BS3 uses a time modifer of 1 and a damage modifer of 4, where as, MTPS uses a time modifer of 2 and a damage modifer of 2.5 (and an equivalent HAM penalty). Since BS3 is obtained at a tier3/tier4 pistoleer experience level and it has superior damage/sec attributes, "MultiTargetPistolShot" must have some innate advantage to make-up for its lack of comparative destructive attributes, right?

Therefore, either Prima's Guide is wrong or non-specific, the description pop-up bubble is vague (inside the skill-tree/in-game holocron), the multi-target is, in fact, randomly shooting at different subsets of the single target's HAM meter (which is, overall, inferior) or there is some ability the skill has that I haven't thought or heard of.

What is the deeper meaning to this? Why can I get a pizza delivered to my house faster than an ambulance? And why is John Carry being refered to as a JFK lookalike??

Rushed, overworked programers who had not slept in 48 hours is the cause of this.

There are alot of special moves in the game that do things completly different then what the description in game gives. Disarm Shot 2 for example is completly different then what it should be.

I have a feeling that SOE just gave the Prima writers a printout of the special move "table" and had them create their guide from that. Either that or Prima gathered theirinfo from the beta testers. It seems in all cases thus far, prima's guide is much more accurate then the actual in game descriptions. Expect this to change though, I doubt the designers did this intentionally.

multi target pistol shot is updated on the test center. Maybe we can scare up a master pistoleer over there to test it. Although...it would be nice if someone was "given" one for testing purposes.

Never go by Prima for an MMO.

For instance, did you know that Point Blank Area 1 is actually a Hold Out shot?

Descriptions are totally whacked too. They have to revamp explainations
