Thread: No Exp Grouped Using My FWG5
The mobs you killed are probably 100% resistant to heat. Always check that your target doesn't 100% resist heat. Heat is very often fully resisted, while energy is almost never completely resisted. On Endor there are a number of mobs that you can't hurt with an FWG5.
I was in a group on Endor where several people only had FWG5s and I saw this happen a number of times.
The first things you should check when you get no xp is your range to target at time of death, whether there are hits in your combat window, and what the mobs resist to your damage type were.
The numbers in the combat window is the ammount of damage applied to the target.
The number that actually comes off the mob when hit is the delivered damage after the applied damage has been reduced through resists, armor etc.
Even through your combat window was showing full damage numbers, if the mob was 100% heat resistant you weren't doing anything to it. Would be kind of hard in a group to tell which numbers are yours but if you /examine first you'll be able to tell which pistol you should use against that paticular mob
I have a toolpage setup for this.button one is a macro button for /examine, the rest are hotkeys to FWG,Scout,DX2,Tangle etc. Or you could examine from radial menu and equip the appropriate pistol.

Now can we please get back to the subject which was: Why does my FWG5 not give exp when I'm in a large group...Thank you!
there is only one thing i can say to that...
"This one time, in band camp, i stuck a flute up my *pazizzell-my-nizzle*...."

Excuse my sarcasm.
Wolph is right, the combat window has nothing to do with how much damage you did to the mob. It is the potential base damage. The reason I said to check it is because I have occasionally forgotten to actually attack the mob, while my pets or group are killing it. Then when I get zero xp I can verify my stupidity because there are no hit messages in the combat window. I might be the only one who does that though...
To see if you are damaging the mob, you must either examine its resists and compare to your weapon, or look for the dmg numbers floating up off the mob. Those numbers post resist damages. You'll never pick out your own floating numbers when more than 1 person is attacking, though, so use the examine window.
