For those of u that want to wade into PvP...(THIS IS NOT ABOUT WHAT IS BROKEN- this is just about how to survive with what we got)

Crafters and doctors will not find much help in this... it is a post for the Infantry types.

You are going to need to master 1 proffession. With the new damage mitigation... this will be even more true. I post here because I myself am a M.Pistoleer. I took this Proff. because the idea of being a gunfighter was appealing. I have been here since day1. Once many moons ago I was a master architect... actually the third on Kauri at one time... I remember tending 45 smll Harv's on a cheap steel site once back then...

I was sitting between my rows of machines just listening to them chug.... The sun was going down. Everything back then was so new... I had just replaced all of my machines maint and was sitting there taking a break.

Something bounced off the Harv next to me... then another thudded into the dirt... scared me a bit, I thought I was under attack. I stood up and turned around to see a binayre pirate crest a hill behind the house running towards me... behind himthree joes a chasin. He fell at my feet. They set up a camp and as one playsed a slitherhorn they began to talk. They spoke of wondrous things like Torturs that loomed over u and were brought down by a blaster, about wars that went on in cities, about Huge tank like walking AT-St's that were controlled by citizens that did mass havok to groups of reds...

I made my choice there prolly... maybe it was the burnout of the crafter grind later on. Doesn't really matter. I went on to become the 3rd on Kauri and place the first hall on Talus, my home planet. Then I stopped crafting and started using my pistol...

I hit the boards hard... tried to find everything I could find about combat and the pistol. It was really a tough thing ..especially back then. There was more whining on the boards back then and it was hard to find any infomation of value... but eventually after days I did. I found out back then what is true still today. To be a soldier embetted in pvp u must devote all of your points to combat or a skill that will compliment your combat goals.

There are alot who pvp out there. Someone will always be better. Even if u are maxxed out on the points.... there will be those who have the equipment. Even if u have the equipment, there will be those who will have better. Be prepared to die.... alot. No matter how u play it there will be days that u die 10 times in 30 mins. Relax.. there will also be days that u dance and come out on top. If u treat it as a game and a dance u will profit from it. U are going to get some tells that call u alot of malformed concepts from people who use too many numbers in their words... with the right mindset it will become non consequential after a while... I personally like the attention, u will be amazed at what some of these guys come up with to say to u... whether they win or lose... there are nights I laugh so hard that i cry.. If u are carefull with your own words u can usually get the hotheads to either come back and battle again or engage u in a duel if u are into that sort of thing. I personally do not care to win or lose as much as i am an adrenaline junkie that finds zen in the combat itself so they are kinda at a disadvantage for I am not emotional when it comes to code and pixels.

Next in mytemplate past the master pistoleer is Smuggler 0040. Yup, I dabbled. I had the points and wanted all the pistol I could get since it was my main weapon of choice so I took the 6 columns of pistol. Only one I do not have is the BH line... and well, I really do not want it. Don't care to scout... I do not bleed and use FD, but it is great to have when u are going down from 3 heavy mobs. I actually took it for the range KD and the fact I had the points.

Yup I took the Novice Medic... cannot get very far without it in this game...lol

Lastly I took Commando 4340... been thinking of dropping that last ditch stuff for three fours in it.

I compiled my template way before FT's were a viable weapon. I actually stumbled across a few C12 grenades and threw them against a vynock or something and was sold...lol. When FT's and Heavy weapons came into play it was a natural choice... specially the heavy weapons. U can use grenades and heavy weapons WHILE using a blaster. U actually kneel, set your gun on the ground, and fire a cannon...

All of that taken left me with 0 pts. I consider myself a true soldier and only stated what I have to illistrate that point. I have no sellable skill assets. I cannot Harvest meat. Cannot train pets (heck I do not even use one). cannot craft. Have to ride a mount cause I have no Terrain negotiation. Cannot set up camps. Heck even with the novice in medic I am not the guy u want healing u... I have no want to be Jedi. I will not butcher my toon for it. I love being a soldier. I want to kill jedis.... But in a honorable way for the sake of population controll... and that is for some other post...

With my template I deal in hardware alot. Rep blasters, Dx2's, launcher pistols, plasma beams, acid streams, Rocket launchers, thermal grenades, Flamethrowers, stims, food, drugs, AND ARMOR.

I cannot stress this one enough... If you are going to pvp, GET ARMOR.

It is like a turkey shoot out there with all the naked pvp'ers... If u are trying to war without armor u are at a serious disadvantage. A couple of days ago Iwent into abattle.. and it had got quiet ... my side was busy recloning... i did not notice and stormed em. Amaster TKA/CH threw 2 gsp's, himself and had apistoleer friend gunning in on me from a distance... allin their undies... I did not even pay attention to the tka except to keep running... I concentrated on the pistoleer and took him out... the TKA KD'd and dizzied me a couple times... I still won(and I torched his cats too)He and his band were like...'how did u beat us..'

I had to be the one who informed him that I was clearly wearing armor... he insulted me and called me something quaint...lol

Little did thiskid realisethat... I was wearing 80% kinetic resist armor. They had caught me coming in offa missioning and I had my kinetic on because most mobs do kinetic dmg.

U CAN GET 80% IN ANY ONE STAT ON COMPOSITE ARMOR... pretty much leaving the others at 50%...before sliced. It is heavy on the HAM but as I show, worth it. I actually keep 5 sets of the stuff...

Ever seen what 80% heat resist comp does to a G5's damage? I been hit with guns that do *like 75-400 1.1spd and they can hardly dent me while KD'd... add in that belt, bandolier, and shirt of bleeding and he aint gonna 'tick my HAM either. it also helps to withstand some of that FT punishment.

Ever seen what a suit of 80% electricity with a helm of 85% acid does to BH's? not pretty.

Or a whole suit of Acid for the BH dabblers?

Armor is important. If u have stuff at about 1-30% get rid of it... cause it is too low to work with the bug. Or use it only with Mobs.

Don't like the heavy HAM's on Comp? well u can also pick up 80% kinetic on Ubese too... but the subs will be around 30-40% and borderline worthless...

Do not worry about decay... 250k is what a suit costs on my server and I die in it at least 5 times a day. If u are a soldier embrued in pvp.... what else do u need that is more important?

I already employ all of these when I pvp and will really edjucate those that want to pvp or are lacking in pvp.

what I dont get is that you say the price is no prob? those sets cost 250k and you lose one every 7 days or so. Well, I suppose money is no prob for someone who is on 5 hours a day or so (or even better: for the third architect of a server )
