Thread: What should I get with MP and MCH?

Drop Pistoleer and master Rifleman instead.

Disadvantages to that class are the 2.5x melee modifier, the long grind to Master, and specials draining the mind pool--all of which are mitigated heavily in PvE by having Master CH (the last because PvE CH can blow off wearing armor most of the time, and with food unbugged now it is possible to spam away).

I realized after i was already a novice pistoleer that rifleman would probably be better, but i kind of liked pistols (plus i was barely a novice CH at that point) so i stuck with it. I might consider changing to rifles eventually but i've heard that pets aren't going to hold aggro very well after the patch so that might force me into more of a melee range combat than I am currently doing now. I don't know if that's enough of a reason to stick with pistoleer or not.

I am a master CH working on pistoleer (holo profession) I would reccomend the following skills.

Medic 4/3/4/0

This will give you the ability to heal for over 2K damage with ease using stim Ds (experimnted to 40 med use). Since you like to play alone you will be able to heal your pets in combat as well as after a fierce battle.

If you enjoy getting buffed you will be able to heal almost your entire HAM pool in one shot form a good stim.

The medic skills will prove far more valuale as a solo PvEer than the ranged support line from markman or the special attacks from smuggler (which would rule out having decent med skills).

If you were a PvPer I would reccomend training the smuggler pistol line.

/agree

The 2.5 melee modifier is going away this week, by the way. You're right that a pet (even a Cowardly Gurreck, which is what I used to master Rifle) takes away all the disadvantages anyway. Just migrate your stats for more mind, use mind HAM reducing powerups, and get mind buffs from entertainers (I love those).

OK. I will soon be a master creature handler which was my goal before even getting the game. I've decided to complement that with master pistoleer which although it has it's problems, i'm enjoying also. My question is what would be better to do with my remaining points and i play almost 100% PvE and 95% solo.

the two options i've looked at are smuggler and medic.

with smuggler i could get

Marksman 0-4-0-2

Smuggler 0-0-3-0

and with medic i could get

Marksman 0-4-0-4

Medic 4-0-3-0 (or reversed)

are there any other MCH, MP's out there? what did you do with your other points?
