Thread: Questoin for the Gunfighters out there...

Greetings all... I am new to the game (been playing 2 mo) and fairly new to the Pistoleer profession (getting ever soo close to Master Gunfighter) and I have a couple of questions. First off I carry 3 different Pistols while hunting; DX2 (Acid), Republic Blaster (Energy) & FWG5 (Heat). Of all the pistols I have I don't feel like I have any 1 that really smacks the crap out of anything. I'm not into PvP right now since my other profession is Master Doctor I don't feel I would stand too much of a chance. I am looking for something the is strictly PvE for now. So my question is, which pistol do you feel is the best over all for Pistoleer and what types of numbers (speed, damage, wound, etc.) should I bee looking for?

Weapon choice is determined strictly by the vulnerability of the mob you are hunting/attacking. Do an "examine" of your target to determine this and then choose your weapon accordingly. You need to have the best weapon you can afford for all types of damage available or you need to work on your sprinting ability..........

For PvE I use a DX2 (sliced around 200 max damage 2.3 speed) and a republic blaster (sliced around 270 damage 2.5 speed). While not the most powerful they are relatively cheap and I do not feel bad using +16/33% damage powerups and spamming specials with them.... they are disposable weapons unlike mysonic blaster and krayt republic. Don't expect to find a gun that smacks the crap out of anything, not in pistoleer. The best advice I can give is to get pistol speed attachments in order to get up to the speed cap. I got my pistol speed up to +87 and it made a huge difference... I was poised to switch professions, now I'm loving pistols again.

Yeah +13 in pistol speed tapes will make you damn fast. I just wish I had the 10 million in creds to buy tapes.

I like to use a Damage sliced tangle pistol, speed is about 2.3 and damage around 180. Most things are vulnerable to stun, that's the only reason I use this. But it's smart to carry a variety of pistols and /examine your target and choose a damage type your target is most vulnerable too. If I come across one that isn't all that resistant to heat I'll pull out my pre-nerf FWG5.
