I knew before having this template thatit wouldn't be that great for pvp but one funny thing is that it provide me a new way to win duel... Bore you ennemy till they surrender.

I can take out easily a lot of opponents but when I meet and good pvper, I just can't get him to ground and neither him... Yesterday I was fighting a TKM / Commando with 4k health. At one time I was dizzy, blind, on fire and knockdowned. About 5 seconds later I was back on my feet with full ham and no state effects. I wasn't able to bring down his health and kited him all around Bestine till he finally give up.

Anyone else having problems with pistoleer against some opponents?

pistoleer on its own just doesnt cut it in many cases.

with BH pistols in there, at least you have eyeshot spam or torsoshot spam. with smuggler you get lowblow, last ditch and feign death for emergencies (remember to remove your armor first or theyll decay-grief you).

but i honestly think you could have taken that guy if you used the right equipment. what pistol were you using? what type of armor were you wearing? get a good geonosian sonic blaster. a player crafted one. you can get 235 max damage ones on corbantis for around 500k. i have one that, with a damage slice and powerup, does over 400 damage. now with only master pistoleer you dont have last ditch, but i think stopping shot would more or less accomplish the same thing (perhaps a master pistoleer without smuggler can help out here).

9 times out of 10 your shots will go completely through his armor. get someeffect sliced composite, shoot for around 80 base or higher. its not that hard to get, and with master doc you can make more than enough money to pay for some good pvp armor and a good sonic blaster. meanwhile, his non-AP flamethrower damage is being completely gimped by your 80% heat resist and light AR. if he switches to TK hell soon realise that 80% kinetic totally gimps TK damage. keep hitting him and you will take him down. if it takes a little longer than youd like, no worries - with that template he cant heal himself very well, and if he does heal he is losing mind. he cant kill you, and youll steadily be draining his health.

90% of PVP is preparation. go into battle prepared, with the right armor, weapons, foods, spiceand buffs and you will most likely win. a lot of people put too much emphasis on skill trees and think that is the major deciding factor in battle, but nearly everything in this game can be countered with the right equipment. there are some classes that are a little overpowered in PVP at the moment (such as rifles, CM... but these IMO arent due to the fact that the classes themselves are overpowered, but simply because most of the other classes are broken) but your opponent was neither of those.

"9 times out of 10 your shots will go completely through his armor."

by this i mean that even with the geonosian cave and stun blasters in the game, still a suprisingly few people have stun armor. id say roughly 9/10 people you encounter in pvp will have a full stun suit.most that wear stun armor think they can get away with just a stun helm, or a stun helm/chest. the strength of pistoleer lies in its adaptability. its not a very powerful class but its one that can still hold its own if combined with the right classes and the right equipment. stun blasters have given us a great boost.

master doc/pistoleer seems to be not as bad a combination as you think. you should be able to take tks no problem, since tks' main weakness lies in the fact that they can only do kinetic damage and armor/buffs severely gimps that. remember there are other foods than just brandy. won-won and kiwik-klusjo swirl give you the same boost to your health and action secondaries, and are food so you can pop 1 each of those along with two brandies. carry around some synthsteak (damage reduction), some thakitillo (defense vs KD), etc. experiment with them.

in good armor, vs a tk, if you pop a synthsteak at the right time theyll be doing single digit damage to you, which is truly embarassing for the tk

with the current state of buffs and armor, its all about who can last longer: who can dish out more damage over time than the other and slowly wear their opponent down.

Well, my problem seems to be the pistol. I had a dx2 with max damage about 272 with powerup and a republic with about 345 damage with powerup. I got a good set of composite (80% kinetic and 89% on everything else), I was prepared with food and all but my pistols are a little weak.

As for geo blasters, they sell for much more on Tarquinas. It seems that good geo pistols are harder to find on Tarquinas then everywhere else. I'm still trying to get my hands on one since I really need thisto do betterin pvpbut for now I'm stuck with my dx2 and republic.

If you're stun shots aren't getting through switch to another weapon. People are rapidly gettng stun armour but it's not easy to change armour totally and it is easy to change your gun.

Keep rotating your weapons and they'll get stuck.

Try to find a Spider Fang Enhanced Tangle if you can't get a good Geonosian Sonic.

But, I will say that I PVP a decent amount, and I use my Pistol skills a lot more than my TKM skills. I think with the right weapons it's better, but you do have to use the right spices, foods, and powerups.

Pistoleer rocks, even with only 3 working specials.

Could you tell me the stats of a spider fang enhanced tangle pistol? I've seen a geo pistol on lunch break for sale for 1 million, Max damage 262. Too bad I'm 400k short of buying it...

i am a pistoleer / doc and i have been having the same problem as well . if my opponent doesn't have novice medic i can eventually wear them down ( i use a 385 max damage geo , or a 450 max republic or a krayt dx-2 ) , however if my opponent has even the ability to use stim b's it is almost impossible to take down a well equiped and well prepared opponent . if the guy i am fighting is a rifleman using a jawa i almost never last long enough to wear him/her down even though i wear a 35% stun 89% base helm and my mind , focus and willpower is 3k + .

i think pistoleer's main weakness (besides significantly lower damage and speed than a rifleman -- the speed part being rediculous) is that we really have no targetted pool attack unless we pick up BH pistols. im sorry but body shot doesnt cut it -- the modifier is pitifully low and were hitting the most protected, most buffed and healable stat pool.

either the modifier needs to be fixed, or we need an all-pool attack. im not asking for mind-targetted damage here, thats a little much. but either the modifier needs to be raised on bodyshot or we need a type of scatter hit that drains all three pools at once.

currently that is happening is not only do i do a pitifully low amount of damage compared to other classes, but if i switch to last ditch we see something like this:

your typical buffed target's ham bars:
-----------------
-----------------
--------------

*if* i manage to incap them it looks like this:

.
---

--

now thats an awfully large amount of wasted damage. if you think about it, not only do we do low damage at a lower speed than a rifleman, but we have to drain pretty muchall of the stat pools until we luck out and one of them drops to 0 and they incap. so yes, last ditch does nice damage. so does fanshot. but in order to put it into perspective you need to divide that damage by 3 unless it targets a certain pool. this makes us useless. riflemen target the weakest, limitedly buffable and unhealablestat pool. they shoot faster (w t f) and hit much harder with an AP stun weapon to boot. its just not fair.

One really funny thing with this template is when you head for a place like the geo cave.

Been there once and the entrance was full. I joined the group to hope to get some loot and after maybe 30 minutes they began to die. As a master doc, my ham was always full and I laughed as I watched them die and as I was sllloooowwwlly killing the geonosians.

Doc / pistoleer is sure hard to kill you play wise but it's kind of slow when it's time to kill 8 geonosians surrounding you. An yes, I survived but got no good loots...

hehe i know what you mean . my template is master gunfighter / 0 4 4 0 doc / and dirty fighting 1for feign death , and slicing 1 for higher payouts and slicing for dungeons like geo cave . with feign death and the ability to use stim e's i can potentially kill any mob in the game solo if i am patiennt enough . however using ap-1 weapons certain mobs can literally take hours .
