Thread: Pistol SEAs: Rare or In Demand?

Is it just me or is there a huge lack of skill enhancing attachments with pistol mods? I check out my servers' trade forums regularly and the few times I see a pistol SEA it sells for (what I consider) obscene amounts. I very rarely ever see any when I'm out hunting. On the other hand, I get veritable craploads of Polearm, Carbine, and Unarmed tapes. I'm not just talking about high-mod tapes, but even +1 and +2 mods seem content to hide from me.

Is it just my bad luck combined with a surplus of pistol-users and a whacked server economy or are Pistol skill mods just really rare?

base stats are all 87%

PS but yes they are definitely more rare... i see alot more polearm, unarmed, and 1 handed and 2 handed sea's than anything else...

Some costly stuff. I had almost forgotten about tapes since it is so hard to find pistol tapes and thatis my only combat clsas.

Well, the thing with pistol SEA's is that multiple professions use pistols: pistoleers, bounty hunters, smugglers/commandos (to an extent). So there is a lot more competition for pistol SEA's than forone hand weapon SEA's etc.

On Intrepid, pistol SEA's do pop up for auction, but the price gets bid up pretty fast. I recently paid 8 million for two pistol SEA's. One was a +12 pistol speed, the other one had +22 pistol accuracy while moving, +16 pistol speed (crosses fingers and hopes they fix multi-mod SEAs someday).

On Intrepid, onaverage, for +5 or higher attachments, generic pistol accuracy goes for 150k a point, pistol accuracy while moving is like 100k a point, and pistol speed is 300-400k a point. For +10 or higher tapes the price goes up, and for the truly rare +20's or higher expect to have to sell a few AV-21 landspeeder deeds to pay for it.

Also, if you get a really good pistolarmor attachment,I would recommend putting it in an ubese shirt first, or if you've already used your shirt slot, you can use a mabari belt or an ubese bandolier for holding armor attachments.

The drawback of using a mabari belt is you can't use a shield, and the drawback of using an ubese bandolier is not being able to wear a backpack. Droids with item storage can help make up for not having a backpack.

If you must use armor slots for holding armor attachments, ideally you could get a composite bracer/bicep made with krayt segments (for the highest condition). The drawback of making composite armor with krayt segments is that it's stun vulnerable (krayt segments can't be layered)but bracers/biceps don't get hit very often so it doesn't matter as much.

On my server (ahazi), I use to get pistol SEA's drop often.....usually from the aakuan cave. they were usually around +3 to +6 or so....got a +9 once but that was long ago....I sold it then...didn't know I would really need it.....guess how I feel now

Now I haven't had a single pistol SEA drop in 3 months.....all I do is fight....you name the mob and i've fought it over 500 times.....put it like this.....I can play for 5 hours straight and do absolutely nothing but fight non stop....guess how many pistol speed SEA's I've seen.....1 from the borgle bat cave in the containers...it was a +1....but interestingly enough, I go to a vendor somewhere and they have a +3 for 10k.....well you know where that is right now.....

I would not put it in an ubese shirt because that is the piece that is most often hit when fighting a mob face to face. I bought a very nice set of ubese for TKA/Pistoleer and Ive yet to replace my arms helmet or boots...Ive replaced the pants once and the shirt 2 times. that is with repairs...(of course many mobs have died thanks to that protection )

Ubese shirt is underarmor. In theory, it should never take damage (because that's what the ubese jacket is for).

I've got a +10 pistol accuracy armor SEA and I really think I'm going to toss it into an Ubese shirt as suggested, it's always tempting to just toss it into a chestplate or somethingand go PvP but I really don't want to lose such a good stat boost like that to damage. We'll see.
