I'm makin an alt soon, and he'll eb a pistoleer/smuggler/BH or similar... any suggestions, tips, things i should know, etc?

I just love hearing a swordsman say that he wants to be a pistoleer. Welcome, Osskzzi! We may not have the most powerful profession in the game right now, but it is a very fun one, imo.

Since you mentioned an interest in both smuggler and BH, you could make a pretty cool template by going Master Pistoleer/BH 0040/Smuggler 0040. As prerequisites for this you'll also need Master Marksman--not an especially useful profession, but at least it gives you a few extra points of accuracy and defenses (not many). You'll also need Scout 4000, which is a very useful branch that I find I could not live without, and Brawler 4000, which doesn't give you much. That will leave youa dozen or sopoints to put into whatever interests you--maybe Novice TK or Novice Commando. I'd go Commando myself if I had enough points for it.

Yeah, swordsman is good and fun, but it just doesnt feel liek star wars... but since I like it, im just makin an alt pistoleer. I was thinkin

I dunno what exaclty the investigation line helps since i've never been BH, but it looked more useful in my bounty hunter endeavors than anything else, so thats what i'll usemy extra SP on

Your comment about it not feeling like Star Wars, Marssk, is exactly when I never had much interest in the melee professions (no offense to the fine meleers!). The template you mentioned sounds like a good one if you're into Bounty Hunting. I've never done BH for anything but the pistols speed and specials though, so I can't say much about the Investigation line other than that it will let you hunt more difficult targets (like Jedi, if you go high enough). I hear it's a royal pain to grind that line though.

Here is my template and I think you might want to look at it as well. It has a lot of flexibility in it to play around with.

I also haev some FS skills thrown in, like the Melee Defense tree along with Ranged Accuracy and Ranged Defense. But I had 16 total points allocated to FS. But I really like this temp. I can hunt things, PvP, and pretty much do what ever I need to do since I have medic. I haev stim d's and some good BE clothes as well for medic. The only thing I could think to do would be to pick up Smuggler and get their attacks. But I like the medic over it. But that is IMHO.

Interesting, Vendras--I think you're the closest person to my own template who I have yet encountered. Compare this description to what you just said... I am:

I have the FS Melee Defensebranch (most of it). Ranged Defense is the nextbranch I am working on.

As for the Ranged Accuracy branch, last I heard that was broken (as is Ranged Speed), and have not heard anything to the contrary since.

I agree that I can pretty much hunt/fight whatever I want, although I do occasionally have trouble with my Mind taking too much damage from some high-ends mobs like multiple upper-level Nightsisters. I use stims D's and E's, and have some good BE clothes for medic.

And I agree, I would love to pick up Smuggler for their specials, if I had any free skill points.

Sound familiar?

About the jedi hunting part... with the help from the BH pistols/smuggler pistols lines, will I be able to do anything? or will I have to hunt noob jedi without saber block
