Thread: Pistol MELEE Defense getting Saberblocked :o

I was eager to test out Some Pistoleer and Bountyhunter to try and get some jedi heads. But after trying several things that looked cool at first I really have an image on why ranged fighters are so crippled (except for rifleman ofcourse) compared to melees.
One of the specials that sounds really nice is pistol melee defense1+2. As the pistoleer is supposed to act in pointblank range rather often you have a special that makes you hit the opponent with your pistol as a melee weapon. The pistol melee defense 2 special deals out a good ammount of damage (factor 3 or 3.5 I guess) and can be used as a damage dealer, pistol melee defense1 can be used to try a knockdown. This would actually give a ranged bountyhunter a chance to fight a jedi. But instead the melee blows from pistol melee defense1+2 get saberblocked 90% or more like every other ranged attack... This is so totally illogical. All melee fighters can deal damage to a jedi and the one thing that would finally make a pistols bh useful with the skills he has... is broken 
Thats really awful and I doubt that this would cause trouble in changing it to be reckognized as a melee blow by the game engine so it doesnt get blocked 90% of the time.
Another special that I really found interesting was disarming shot which does nothing instead of damaging the target. I mean, why doesnt it really disarm the target by unequipping the opponents gun? Give it a timer like you did with knockdown so it wont be all too powerful. So you could use it every once in a while but you would not be able to spamm it. This would at least be another special that you could use against jedi AND other players (except for tka ^_^).
Right now I am really annoyed that I dropped my old template to finally realize that SOE did not only screw up carbineer,smuggler and pikeman but pistoleer too. Ok, pikeman is now useful. But that is not because of his style or his good damage... its all about applying a dot.

It's been well stated that pistoleer has several broken specials. However I still like it since I have BH. I have good weapons, good armor, and a good overall template, so I'm able to do anything I want. Save Elders and the like. But hopefully it will be fixed soon as I would really like to have Melee 1 and 2 work effectively.

from what I know, MeleeKD 2 does not work at all. So only use KD 1 and you should be all right. Saberblock is a problem in itself though

PMD2 Works just extremely, extremely rarely.
It necessarily is broken... but still functions.

Last time I tried PMD2 I, after several attempts, made the sucker kneel.
Why the heck I'd want an opponent to kneel with PMD2 when PMD1 is a KD I never quite figured out.
