Thread: Pistol xxx4 necessary?

I am trying to work out a template for pistoleer/BH/smuggler, and was wondering if the last line of pistols helps much, as I have a few much needed skill points for otehr stuff if i dont get it

To be affective as a BH/Pistoleer I think it is a must to have Master pistoleer, U get +20 speed, although it may not be much of a diffrence being BH unless you want to speed cap. I dont know your exact template but I think you would be at a loss without Master Pistoleer. Plus at Master you get a certification for a DE-10. So I think Pistoleer xxx4 is necessary. If you have enough SP go master but if you don't than you will be missing out on a bit of content of Pistoleer.

I find it very helpful and I only have level 3 in it. One thing I particularly enjoy is PistolMeleeKnockdown (1 of course). I took out a TK today using it, he thought he was pretty big and bad trying to knock me down, but it didnt work. Speed and accuracy definitely help too.

Ja, that tree gives you Pistol Melee Knockdown. It's also the tree with melee defense in it, innit?

Don't need it if you have a scatter or republic that is in the high 400's with a pup. Most DE-10's are only a little better than this. The speed doesn't help you and if you're smuggler you have lowblow and don't need pistol melee defense. Use your points in more tracking or medic. My opinion.

honestly, i'd pick up fanshot (those state defenses are a lifesaver too) and at least pistolmeleedefense1 (use it in addition to lowblow)
with bounty pistols as the extra boost from master marksman, you won't need much speed to cap, but you should need at least xxx2 to cap with bh pistols IV (i'm not entirely sure)
if you decide to pick up anything else, i'd pick up dodge, but other than that, i'd say go for some tka meditation/defense and/or commando novice for the launcher (cause it rules)

I'd recommend getting the first box, since that gives you PMD1, which is the only useful special the tree has to offer. With BH pistols, xxx1 wil lgive you enough pistol speed to cap every gun but the DE-10, which you won't be certified for anyway. Which means the only useful thing you'll get in melee defense. 30 melee defense and 15 accuracy for those tree boxes. Keep in mind 4 skill points will buy you 20 melee defense from FS skills, so that's fairly covered.
Personally, it's not a part of my template because I use the free skill points in fencer, which means the only thing I lose is the 15+ accuracy mod from that tree.

It is fairly handy, even for a BH. YOu dont need the speed as much, but PistolMeleeDefense1 as mentioned before is quite handy, as is the melee defense.
All the trees are handy, but usually only if you take them all...if you want to dodge well, you need to take the whole tree, accuracy is handy also since there is no cap to it even with you BH mods, more accuracy is always nice. And, of course, the techniques tree is our handiest tree with the great specials we like to use

looks like i'll be forced to master... lol
ah well, theres enoughSP forBH pistols, inv 3, smuggler pistols and master pistoleer, i get to use a DE-10 the most badass weap in the game

ranged mitigation III is also very handy
