Thread: Unbalanced or simply not a real profession?

I heard so many people becoming Creature handler/Bio-Engineer with pistoleer skill it sickens me. I wanted to become one too, but I hate the fact that everyone is becoming one so I changed my mine. I want to become a Ranger with the Pistoleer skill maxed out.

I teamed with a creature handler and made a test, we duelled and the creature with the master is WAY too powerfull!!! I mean, if the creature handler can learn the pistoleer skills, what is left for the Ranger or true pistoleer, they have NO CHANCE in pvp, worst thepet continu to attack even when the master is incapacited, we didn't want to slain but I wonder if the pet would continue to attack after the master is slained....

Anyway, what do you think, are CH too powerful against all type of fighters?

No, CHs are just reaching the top of their power more quickly then other elite professions. Part of that is the maskscent problem early on, part of it is the ability to gift master level pets to new novice CHs.In the end it means that while a pistoleer is using a scout pistol or DH17 pistol while waiting for the weaponsmiths to level up to top end experimented pistols the CH has his end game weapon now, his top pet.

There's alot of discussion on the CH boards about this (most not friendly), but one high skill rifleman came over and said that he can pull 1600+ damage per shot with a laser rifle. Shots like that make 10k HAM creatures and 600 mind CHs seem a bit smaller

Word is that while CHs are the top of the heap this week, top end attack droids, and elite class weapons will change that over the comng weeks.

We'll see, at the moment I'm one of the ubiquitous pistoleer/CHs, if it becomes unfun I'll sacrifice it and become something else. I love that I can do that

So where you saying that you had him incapacitated? If so then all you had to do with DB him and his pets would have poofed and that would be that.

Yes I didn't DB him, it was a friendly duel, I was trying to see if I could kill him or not..

Maskscent wasn't the issue. Getting scout XP is super fast and easy anyway. The issue was with the way a CH gets full XP if their pet hits a mob and the mob is killed. (go to tusken fort, get pet to hit each mob..wait..when mobs die, you get full XP per mob...CH XP that is).

So they can hit master CH in about 24 hours or so as a result. So yeah, they are hitting master CH far faster than any other elite profession.

Further, we have to wait for crafters to churn out..wait...anything we get a pistol using CH gets too, so it's moot. Yes, 3 good pets are >>>> any PC at the moment.

That's BS. I had a BH duel my creature that's better than rancor, but not yet fully grown (1/2). BH owned the pet with spamming knockdowns. So creatures are not as deadly as they look, but are a pain to kill.

1. Scout xp is not easy to get.

2. The amount of ch xp you get depends on the type of pet you are using vs what mobs they are fighting.

I found scout XP to also be way too easy. Without using mask scent. In the process of leveling up Unamred and Pistol I has expl III and Hutning III. And since making it to smuggler Ive reached both level IVs.

Scout XP is pretty easy to get. Crazed durnis give 79 scout XP per harvest. The hardest I've found is the survival.

I didn't do the mask scent thing in time, at first I thought "oh no, this is gonna take forever" in reality it didn't take THAT long to get explore IV and hunting IV. BUT I'm not saying it wasn't a grueling process, it went fast (as does everything in this game) but it was such an annoying thing to harvest constantly. Mask Scent is still workable, it's just not logical to use it a lot...

anybody notice decrease in XP?

oh, btw....I don't really use high level creatures. I see novice CH's running around with Rancors....which is a bug and should be fixed. Having a creature with everything above 30% resist, and two 60% resists and 3 100% resists at a novice profession is unfair. I use a dewback personally.
