Thread: Peco Peco Albatross

I am curious how to bring this bird down. Even buffed up all my stats for 2500 or more this big bird eats me alove. I went after it once alone and buffed and it had trouble hitting me while I was kneeling. But then it made me change stance and it was all over.


I tried again with my friend the TKM next day and we still weren't doing much. After shooting it for about 8 minutes and him chasing it aropund a group of storm troopers killed it and the corpse disappeared. TKM wasn't able to help much as it was 100% resistant to kinetic, and mostly resistand to everything else.


How do I bring big bird down? Will I ever be able to do it by myself?

Lol keep in mind that these things are on par with krayt dragons. It takes a very smart player with a solid template and good equippment to solo something like this. Either finish your template or bring friends, not to mention pick up some uber pistols and good ubese

The albatross is 25% resistant to restraint, stun and acid. I would usemy DX2. I would also take something to help against dizzy like Ithorian mist or get some SEAs.


Mastering would be useful, like suggested. As for soloing it, maybe but I would bring a friend or two anyway to help out. Bring a commando or maybe a rifleman. The rifleman would be my first choice. These babies spawn near my husband's vendor just outside of Theed periodically and he can solo them, being a master rifleman, by using take cover and conceal shot with his acid rifle. He usually gets 3 spawning.


You could bring someone, like your TK friend, to just be tank for you too. That way he draws Big Bird's attention from you and anyone else firing on him.


It takes awhile to kill these, remember. With them having 85000 HAM, my husband took about 20 min to kill each one.


These are just some suggestions for you. I hope whatever you choose works out well for you.

I know where some spawn near 4 squads of ST's and an AT-ST, usually they can help me bring it down before they all die.

I soloed about 3 of these the other day. I have flame 1 and the smuggler specials but I just used my dx2 like was said before and tried to keep three stats on the bird at all times.... intimidate, on fire, and bleed.... two of these are from brawler and comando but the rest of the time I just last ditched it with my dx2. So its not a pure pistoleer solution but they are relitively easy to take down... note that I was buffed and had 80% kinetic with good brandy. My HAM bars were not even affected at all and I got 3 peko peko albatross feathers.

They are 100% resistent to kinetic, so thats why your TK friend wasn't helping much. Best way to do it is landDoTs and then alternate a high damage shot (possibly stopping shot) with warning shot. The warning shot usually causes the bird to start flying in the opposite direction for a few seconds which gives you some time to get a few high damage shots off without taking damage. Also if the bird really gets on you make a macro like:

/warnginshot; /warningshot; /warnginshot; /peace


The bird isn't very aggresive and will usually peace too.

When I got my feather i was part of a group of 6 two ranger two tk a rifle and a master doctor. the rangers would rescue when the bird was focused on someone making it turn on them then the rifle would snipe and we TK's would KD and just beat the tar out of it. we had been doing this for three day and it was finaly my turen to get the pull, so far we had seen nothing as loot and didn't expect to see anything but woot....
shortly afterwards I was booted from the group because people were pissed.... but hey

A friend of mine and I took out about 5 of these in a span of about 30 minutes. I am Master Pistoleer/Master Combat Medic, and he was novice swordsman at the time. He mostly tanked because he was still painfully slow at the time, but I just healed him and kept poison in the bird while I stopping shot it to death. Best of all...5 feathers!

I haven't even seen one yet...


I'm sure a few flame DoTs, bleeds, intimidates, and pistol specials would make it pretty easy, though.

I kick these baby's asses all the time, there is a spawn at the city I live at so I see them a lot, I simply LB, PS and LD them until they go down, when they get out off the KD I simply kd again since then most of the times the 30 sec timer has passed and when it hits me I regen in the KD time of the peco peco, I simply get buffed, get high on Muon, drink some Vas brandy and eat some canape and powerboost. By that time I have some serious HAM's so these birds don't really touch me...
