Thread: Fan Shot vs. Multi target shot

I just made Master Pistoleer last night...I didn't get much time to play around with my new found abilities, but am interested to know what differences there are between Fan Shot and the multiple target shot you get at master.
Fan shot seemed to be better in comparison...or is this just me?

Fanshot only works in a directional cone wheras MTPS is 360 degree shot and will hit a lair if its in range, even if its not targetted. But fanshot is a much faster shot than MTPS, not sure about the damage multiplier but theyre vaguelly similar X4 or something.
I only use MTPS when applying dots to mobs or in GCW situations, saves me having to target lots of times. It also helps if you're speed capped, if not I wouldn't bother using it that much.

MTPS also doesn't work if it tries attacking something that is blocked by obstacles.

fanshot has the better dps is most cases, but as said before you need something else holding the mobs attention since it is directional... MTPS works pretty well for most mobs, but often times since it is random pool shot it is better just to concentrate on one mob with healthshot2...check the links post above for a good damage calculator and see if it is worth it for your weapons and speed.
