Thread: SHOCKED!!!

Hello everybody. I am currently doing a BH/Pistoleer/Smuggler template and have been reading through the Pistoleer forum. To be honest, I am cant beleive that most of the Pistoleer specials are broken. People pay money every month to play this game, and all that the Devs are concerned about are the all important Jedi adn the most boring JTL. I find this very sad indeed. The Devs better wake up to themselves b4 everybody leaves to EQ 2...oh wait a minute, they made that game as well. Seems that the Devs just don't care.

The devs care, just not that much. They are waiting for the combat nerf to fix everything. Of course, they will bascially break all of the professions like they have done to pistoleer. Believe it or not, pistoleers were uber at launch, but the constant dev / scumbag nerfs destroyed them.

really? i don't remember pistoleer being that great at launch. i was a CH/pistoleer at launch. now CH, that got really nerfed

True some Pistoleer specials work less than stellar. However, the ones that do work, workvery well. Pistoleer is arguably firmly aimed at taking down the Health Ham, for that its very good. The biggest problem with Pistoleer is actually not related specifically to Pistoleer at all but at the combat system. Carbineers and Rifleman have little or no problem actuallly shooting as fast as us, this means that our over all DPS is lower in comparison...simply due to the fact that our weapons dont hit as hard.


Second problem with Pistoleer is that we have no way to hit the mind pool effectivly, thus making a pure pistoleer a very poor dueler. General PvP isnt as bad as you have large groups and running around spamming fanshot will do a lot of damage.


Survivability in PVE has never been a problem for me as a pistoleer, as I have weapons that can attack nearly any weakness, except cold, and lightsaber. Our high dodge and good defenses also help, we are one of the most "agile" proffs out there.


Sure Pistoleer has some problems, but they arent any greater than a plethora of other professions. Team up Pistoleer with BH or Smuggler/TKA and your pretty dangerous.

I remember those days well, at launch we were called overpowered by almost every single profession in the game including rifleman. It's always the newer folks who never experienced our former glory days that think our profession is doing fine and that we aren't a pvp profession bla bla bla.....<add nauseum>.


Well the Devs stated back in beta that all ranged professions would have equivalent dps and well quite frankly we don't. of course back then all ham pools were also all healable with stims. Right before launch mind stims were removed from the game because they discovered a medic/doctor could heal in an infinite loop. So thanks to that judgemant call we got the uber fotm professions, BH, CM, TK, Rifleman, Pikeman......... All hit the mind pool and all have been fotm professions that have dominted pvp since release. Of course each one of these have had their turn as thigns have changed in the game each one has become less potent as people got smarter. Now pvp is even worse, all Jedi and Melee stackers. Ranged overall is useless in pvp now including pistoleer, we've just been there longer than most of the other ranged profession when it comes to being near-useless in pvp.

I Mastered Pistoleer twice and going for the third time..


Pistoleer is great, just deal with the speed cap for now.


Unless the devs fix that with the combat rebalance, highly doudt it..
