Change the DE-10 from energy damage to STUN!
It would probably cause massimbalance, mess up the GCW even more, be followed by thousands of outcries from rifled00dz, and be changed back 2 months later but still...... I can dream right? ;P

Honestly that wouldnt help at all. First the DE10 is niegh on impossible to get your hands on, and second, if you cant damage someones mind pool effectivly you may as well not PVP.
One incredibly simple fix would obviously be to give one of our specials the ability to damage the Mind pool.
This is of course flogging a long dead horse, all we can do is hope that the combat revamp will improve on our PvP chances. I really like pistoleer, Ive mastered it twice but for PvP it suxors.

combat upgrade will be a good thing for ALL professions...its my job and the job of the 5 Sandbox testers to make sure that not only pistoleers have their place, but all professions have their place.
And if they try to put some long gun toting rifleman above us Ill be sure to let them have it

Picture a leaky faucet.
One would think you would getsomeone to fix it, instead of putting a bucket under it.
And what about all the people that like the DE-10 for what it is, rather than what it can be?
I like my DE-10 as a high damage energy weapon than a member of the composite stun wars.

Heh, I've been thinking about melee for the past few days, and as far as I can tell, it's gone something like this.
Well, melee will take more damage, so they need more defenses. State defenses and primary defenses are added, above what the ranged equalent gets.

Well, melee will take more damage, so we need to reduce it somehow. Intimidate.
Well, melee has a shorter range, so they'll have to be able to do more damage once they get in range. That's why a TKM hits a target I hit for 700 for 5K.
If it weren't for the fact that not all of these were in place after pre-launch, I'd sat they've simply had different developers who hasn't been communicating with eachother. But since they included a lot post-release, I guess it's a case of overbalancing.
(I guess I'm just bitter, but I've been wanting to spew that for the past few days. And since it isn't really the fault of the melee professions themselves, I can't go flame them. Flaming the devs is pointless, 'cause I'm paying (I could cancel til the combat revamp, but I paid a year upfront). Sorry -_-)

I think the devs know how borked pistoleer is. I swear they need a mathematical analysist to crunch the numbers on their combat engines. If they hire one we might not see what we saw in the first place - a few professions emerging as useful in PvP.
I swear if they don't get this upgrade balanced I'm going to riot.

What would be nice above hitting mind would be some state attacks.
I'd like to get a full range of stun, blind, dizzy, intimidate, etc...

Dont know if we should be able to apply all states like that...but we should be more versatile in the field...currently the only thing we are good for (pure pistoleer) is hitting health...and possibly knocking someone down if we are in melee range...
We will have a niche in the grand scheme...and hopefully testing will start soon.

Well, riflemen have brute power in their weapons. Carbineers have a profession devoted to state attacks. What do we have to hold our own?

I still can't figure out why i can't shoot a Jedi and actually do any damage to one. Every time i go overt they just swing their lil glow sticks and knock away all my shots; i try to dodge ,but get wap'd in the noggin; i try to intimidate, but they heal the state; So i fiegn death and then take the hate tells
